Forget all of the above.

The biggest issue is if you believe what Gus said on the podcast he has been undermined in all of this.

He clearly said he was going to address the issues at the end of the season but it was brought to a head by the actions of Dave O'Neill which were only brought to his attention last Friday?

That is the biggest concern? The Chairman of the Board, Chief of the Executive initiated certain action which were not known at that time to Gus Gould who up until now controlled everything!!!!!

I am just not sure where we go from here and I am certainly not sure I want to know.
I must admit I never listened to the podcast and have only read summaries of it.

Would like to see Ivan take Goulds job in 2 years (after his contract expires) and go in a new direction coach wise.

I think Cleary is a better coach than Hook. But not THAT much better to the point where its worth the risk where you could have to sack him in 2 years and lose Nathan anyway. Or worse the father/son combo fails. The bias would be difficult to work around. Trying to be unbiased could make you go too far the other way.

I mean it could be best for both. The love and trust in wanting to make the other as successful as possible. Plus our last father/son combo won a comp. Its a gamble. But it gambles 2 futures. Not just the one

Well if you believe Gus he hasn't spoken to Ivan it was initiated by David O'Neill Chairman of the Board.

I was stunned by Monday events, even more stunned by the unfolding events of yesterday and after the podcast from Gus today, Griffin on NRL 360 I have absolutely no f**king idea what is going on.

Hopefully Cameron Ciraldo and the playing group have been somewhat insulated from the mess because I believe they have a game to play on Saturday and apparently it is an important game.

That's what the sacked coach says happened.

He refused to work with Gus. HE didnt trust Ciraldo. His version confirms a lot of rumours but his story obviously makes him sound like the victim.

He thinks he built our juniors to be what they are today ffs. But that's easily proven erong since results show the success came pretty much immediately after Gus arrived. And our academy was plsnned before his arrival slso.

Funny how former players have a motive we can't trust. But you trust a former coach who essentially confirms a lot of what is said in rumours, by Gus and former players.

He is the victim though, the only people saying otherwise are Gus & a handful on here. Everyone without a dog in the fight says he’s been poorly treated regardless of his coaching ability.

I called it a serious accusation, which it is. I don’t think I said it was 100% fact. I don’t know if it is, I’m leaning towards believing it but that’s just my opinion. Not sure it’s something that can be proved either way.

I didn't think anything was disturbing. Gus tried to get Hook to listen when it was apparent that his methods weren't going to get us too the next level. I don't see a problem with that. I don't see a problem with him trying to influence him through Ciraldo. Where is the issue? It's good leadership to offer help when somebody needs it. Is is poor leadership to refuse the help.

If true, You don’t see a problem with a GM essentially sabotaging his first grade coach just so he gets his way? Really?

and when that happens Cameron to be the coach. Gus is getting toward needing to retire for his own health. In my mind that would be a wonderful progession and succession plan

THE NO SPIN ZONE

Plenty of spin in the 360 interview. So far Griffin/Tigers are resoundingly winning the PR war.

'Club was a mess' - That was a shocker. Moving on.

'Its Gus' club' - Yes it is. Rightly or wrongly. Who signs up to this club thinking they won't answer to him?

'We are performing at the next level/ahead of schedule' - Absolutely not.

'I get on well with the players' - I don't think so...the evidence is piling up baby.

'Gus is old school' - Yep thats true. Still, I'll take Gus over Hook baby.

Trial blow up - Comes back to coaching philosophy. Griffin saw it as a throw away game (I did too actually). Gus sees it as a springboard into the season OR is shocked his coach doesn't want to talk about a fundamental part of the game at halftime...attack.

Bit torn over all of this. Of course the coach should be left to do his job. But it sounds like Hook needed help.

I never said I believed it you clown. Just relaying what was said in his podcast

So many versions of events going around I have no idea which one is the truth.
Sorry, but you did not say that you were quoting someone else's words. I may well be a clown but I am definitely not a mindreader.

what do you know, seggy comes out and says Griffin had problems with many players including himself. the proof is in the pudding
Ahhh yes, the impeccable character of Seggy. Maybe if he wasn’t too busy snorting lines off Norman’s dong he would still be at the club.

True he may have an axe to grind. But plenty of players move on from clubs and don't speak foul about former coaches.

We've heard this from numerous sources now. Ex-players aren't orchestrating a media campaign against Anthony Griffin.

Seems to me this all could have been solved if we fired our coach at the end of 2017. Then there would be no need for Gus' to step in.

In most work places that would happen. Regular reviews... Fire incompetent staff. Leave new staff to do their job... Until reviews show otherwise
