The year before matters not at all. Ivan gave up in 2015, he said after the Parramatta game in Darwin that we could not make the finals even though we still had a chance. This I think is symptomatic of the issues that led Gus to showing him the door and calling him tired. But at least he waited until the season was over.
How is that any different to Hook stating last year that anyone who thought we had a top 4 team knows nothing about Rugby League?

Hook seemed to think he was ahead of schedule here. While Gus thinks we have a team capable of bring a premiership threat.

Our next coach might not do any better. But atleast the club isny happy treading water and working toward nothing.

.

I swear that was the same with Nathan before he made his debut, Gus thought Nathan was ready for FG and Ivan said no he's not ready. Nathan then made his debut and basically played FG since?

Who was doing that development?
There were s lot of quality people involved in that. Ciraldo. Brennan and Cleary all contributed before Hook arrived.

Look at who the players credit for things. Outside of an NRL debut, have players ever credited Hook for their development?

The job Griffin did with juniors was good, but he’s overselling himself.

But the job he did is an indication he’s in the wrong role, he’d be better as some type of talent coordinator for a club.

A head coach should be able to do those things if necessary, but they also need to come up with strategies to beat the best teams. Griffin couldn’t do that.

Nice gotcha moment but I've already said Griffin would have contributed my problem was with him implying he saved the club from being a complete mess with no junior development.

Why do the other side continually ignore half of what is said?

You took it too read it as that though. As with anything the truth is in the middle. The juniors would of came along anyway...He was coach at the time so gets some credit

Panthers should have offered him a role like that before things got bad. Couldn't worked well.

I've said he should get some credit.

I watched the interview. He absolutely was trying to big note himself with those statements.

Of course he is going to. He isn't going to talk bad of himself..

The Academy opening helped coincided with Griffin here. That would of helped him bring them through
