I'd like to see Hook expand on what his coaching philosophy is. Playing Cartwright at 5/8 and Josh Hoffman at 5/8 (back when Hook was coach at the Broncos, for reference Hoffman has zero ball playing skills and isn't even a stop gap 5/8). Telling Ben Barba a player that relies on speed on agility to bulk up and pretty much turning one of the best players in the world into an average fullback.

His philosophy seems to be bullying your way to try line with size and power and nothing else.

Hoffman’s doesn’t even pass enough to play on the wing.

Hook just wants blokes to take hit ups and “win the middle”. No attacking kicks, no long kicks that might go dead, no grubbers, no flare, no long passing. Hit ups, the shift the ball through the hands with short sharp passes, that was his game

Yes, but that’s the murky world of contracts.

I don’t see much difference between Cleary wanting to coach somewhere else & a club wanting someone else to coach them.

We know as well that the tigers were interviewing Pascoe behind the panthers back. They’re hardly innocents.

Pascoe was on the way out after a run-in with Gus over who controls what. Pretty sure Pascoe approached them.

I reckon there is a big gap in someone wanting out of a contract - and someone wanting out of a contract AFTER approaches have been made in relation to finances and family. Of course I am making an assumption here that an approach has been made - if it has it would not be too hard to prove.

In any case the Tiger have a right to enforce the contract, if they wish. There is no getting a round that. It is up to Cleary or the Panthers to convince them to relinquish that right.
