RCG publicly calling some of Hooks methods shit feels pretty unprofessional. I mean, I agree with his sentiment, but I don't see the value in airing that kind of laundry in public.

Well. I'm one of the few who doesn't rate either Griffin or Cleary, so I'm covered. I prefer that we win though. I can handle being wrong about one of them.

I dont think many people thought Ivan was the best option for us. Just that he's a better one than we had. Although no matter how Ivan goes for us. The 5 year deal was stupid. No coach should get a guarantee like that. 3 years should be the maximum. With anything beyond that as an option in the clubs favor.

I agree 100%. It was probably an off the cuff comment maybe not intended to come out the way it did, I don’t know.

The club (or Phil Gould) has invested heavilly in RCG as our forward leader and he needs to deliver in 2019 and beyond.

It is what it is!!! We need to have faith regardless of what your preferences were.

I still think we are one or two players short of being real premiership quality but at the same time I think we have a really good roster capable of going deep into September if injuries are kind.

I'm a big fan of Ivan as a coach and i agree. We've seen prem winning coaches go stale after a year or two.

The issue is how it all went down. No interview process again moreso then the actual sacking for me

Starting the year well is a must. Given how things sit even 5/5 after 10 weeks is poor.

It is what makes RCG's comments even more dumb. Get into the year than comment

Spin it whatever way you like but if we don't have immediate success, I think the decision to punt a coach mid contract who had a (fairly) successful record by our standards would be a poor decision.

You can count on one hand the amount of times we had a full strength team under hook...So it isn't like we had the best to judge from. The board/Gus decided just making the semis wasn't good enough. Which is fine provided the team doesn't go backwards after the change. Big couple of seasons for those in charge coming up

To be fair though, it’s not like we can’t just sack him before the contract is finished... we’ve done it before

Im expecting us to go further under Ivan a few times. But probably miss out on finals on another occassion.


Leaving us to argue whether a few years of better results and a worse result is more successful than 3 years of results not changing.

We need to get higher highs we have under performed for years now.
Hiring Ivan still seems like it was just to keep Nathan than go for a better coach
