The smoke / fire surrounding Hook's position has a very similar sound to it as the Roosters in the Stuart era.

In fact the whole feeling around the club has that sort of look about. Which may not be a bad thing considering there were 3 GFs then. But it may not be a good thing either because they lost them.

According to western weekender RCG is only 1 or 2 weeks away from returning. According to the same source Maloney only trained once last week, at the captains run. He will train all well for the next game.

I hve been saying that since the game. We were on our 4th fullback and Maloney couldn't train so I bet Luai trained at 6. We were going in ridiculously under prepared to play a top 8 team.

A rep level veteran half on 800k shouldn't need to train to deliver

Maloney was part of training. I saw him in the Timezone video with thr rest of the team. (A joke about wasting time not training)

Can only blame injuries for so much. I think keeping the team fresh has helped keep the intensity a bit. The issue was largely with players who havent missed many/any games. Especially the replacement players.

Crichton. Philips. Katoa. They just weren't ready for This much NRL. Hetherington is so inconsistent too. When he's on he's one of our best. Maloney peaked about 10 weeks ago for us. Our 2 best performances since we beat Dragons were the ones with more fresh faces.

Gus once said injuries above the waist don't bother players but anything below really messes them up. I'd say being his foot it's really messed him around.

I do agree about the replacements playing too much.

Maloney said on radio this morning he only took part in the captain's run on Thursday. He dodged questions about himself carrying an injury.

Re the rumour that Dallin was fit and Hook just didn't pick him. Dallin has posted on Instagram yesty about "getting back to full running" or whatever so I don't think that is accurate. Unless the club just decided to rest him from the start of the week rather than give him up until the captains run.

Mansour too... he starts our sets off so well
Yeah problem is everyone knows this so they don't kick it to him. That's why Broncos absolutely hammered Crichton, surprized more teams have not done this all season. Mansour has a good knack at getting us a penalty coming out of our own end too.

That is the thing with young guys inconsistency. They have played too much that alone will see us improve as guys come back

Which is why I want DWZ on the wing. Not sure it can happen but keeps us without a weak winger

It was always the risk. He was in a moon boot til late in the week. Goes with what RCG said v Manly a few weeks ago
