Why? No quotes. Maloney and hook both said post game. They will have a look at themselves next week.

Because mid season review is more sensible than "OMG Panfas in crisis Giffin is the devil".

I just got told on reddit there is also a rumour that Griffin is having trouble communicating with players and Ciraldo is filling the gap.

We are running 4th so can't be in crisis..

Or is an assistant passing on a coaches messages like an assistant should?

There was no issue 3 weeks ago when we were 1st

1. If Cleary wants to leave, let him leave.
2. A coach who has us in the top 4 two thirds of the way through the season deserves to be able to finish the job without shit like this.
3. Lots of teams have slumps during the season, especially at this time. Most recover.
4. If I were Griffin and this were true, I'd invite Gould and Ciraldo to do better.

That's all I have to say.
What the f**k does Cleary have to do with it? He hasn't got an issue with Hook or said that he wants to leave.

The article simply claims (no source for this claim) that whatever decision the club makes could influence his decision. Which would be true of every player looking at their future. Obviously.

I'm just saying it's more reasonable than the usual dribble. My employer conducts reviews regardless of good/poor performance. The club could have always had a set timetable for a review and the media are dramatizing it or there could be nothing at all.

The reason I can't get behind this rumour is the same reason I couldn't get behind it in the pre-season.

-Hook had his contract extended last year.
-Our results this year are better than last year
-Last year after 7 losses and 2 wins we were looking at extending him

I dont believe these rumours. I tend to believe Gus and Ciraldo are having more input this year. But I dont see that as a negative thing. At the end of the day results are what matters. And our past month has been shit. But we're still top 4. You don't sack a top 4 coach after extending him as a bottom 4 coach.

I would be disappointed if we weren't doing similar. We need to lift for the finals. A big difference between that and the coach copping the ass. Click bait headline is all it is

For the record I don't believe Griffin is under pressure. That part doesn't make sense unless something changed over night. MX points it out well.

The Article said:
The club is hopeful of keeping halfback Nathan Cleary at the club beyond the end of 2019 and are well aware of the impact the coach could have on that decision given a potential defection to the Tigers to play under his father, Ivan.
What the f**k does Cleary have to do with it?
You can see above what is being suggested in the article.

I dont believe these rumours.

Me either, but they sure are annoying. Maybe they will galvanise the team, it seemed to work earlier.

I have been told Soward is the suspect leak of such stories. He works on a show on NRL.com with the writer of the story. So make of that what you will
Fair point.
Soward also said earlier in the year Cleary wasn't ready for Origin this year.
He still holds a grudge.

The media usually sensationalise stories.

Agree 100%, it’s a nothing article with no credible source and written by Buzz, who has always had it in for Gus. Everyone knows that. Just more bullshit in trying to break the club apart.

We’ve had 2 consecutive losses (the first time this season); and yes we’ve had poor performances in both those games, but we are not in a crisis, if we are, then I’d hate to think what parra, cowboys, Canterbury and manly have gone through this season.

Quite simply, the injuries are finally taking a toll and some of our boys who have been cruising while the others do the hard work, are now being caught out and have nowhere to hide (front rowers). Also losing our captain to career ending injury is also taking its toll (as it would to any club) as well as origin/representative duties...

People can say what they want but if all this shit about griffin is true, then why did RCG and sauce extend this year??? With the injuries we’ve copped, how did our boys keep digging in and winning some real big fantastic games this season, Rabbitohs at home, cowboys away, Canberra away, dragons at home - almost coming from behind to beat Cronulla.

If hook lost the playing group, there’s no fn way we would be where we are on the ladder at the moment. Results aren’t going our way currently and media are trying to stick the boot in (Hi buzz!!!)

I hope the playing group take this article and use it as extra motivation to shut these clowns up, it’s starts on Friday night against NZ, 3 players out for origin on top of our injury list, we can make excuses, but we fkn won’t, we’ll keep turning up and staying the games like we have all year (roosters only exception). Can’t wait till Friday night, gonna be at the game in the cold and us fans are gonna bring the colour, flags and noise and be the 14th man on the field and get our lads home !!!

WE ARE PENRITH !!!!
