Fair point.
Soward also said earlier in the year Cleary wasn't ready for Origin this year.
He still holds a grudge.

My source is either right on the money or a mile off. As long as the players are fine with the changes is all that matters

You can see above what is being suggested in the article.

Me either, but they sure are annoying. Maybe they will galvanise the team, it seemed to work earlier.
Its speculation and suddenly Cleary is basically being told to pack his bags.

Nowhere does it even speculate he dislikes Hook. Its ridiculous he is being dragged into this shit. And then fans are picking sides based on speculation.

Either way he isnt relevant to the coaches future.

Agree 100%, it’s a nothing article with no credible source and written by Buzz, who has always had it in for Gus. Everyone knows that. Just more bullshit in trying to break the club apart.

We’ve had 2 consecutive losses (the first time this season); and yes we’ve had poor performances in both those games, but we are not in a crisis, if we are, then I’d hate to think what parra, cowboys, Canterbury and manly have gone through this season.

Quite simply, the injuries are finally taking a toll and some of our boys who have been cruising while the others do the hard work, are now being caught out and have nowhere to hide (front rowers). Also losing our captain to career ending injury is also taking its toll (as it would to any club) as well as origin/representative duties...

People can say what they want but if all this shit about griffin is true, then why did RCG and sauce extend this year??? With the injuries we’ve copped, how did our boys keep digging in and winning some real big fantastic games this season, Rabbitohs at home, cowboys away, Canberra away, dragons at home - almost coming from behind to beat Cronulla.

If hook lost the playing group, there’s no fn way we would be where we are on the ladder at the moment. Results aren’t going our way currently and media are trying to stick the boot in (Hi buzz!!!)

I hope the playing group take this article and use it as extra motivation to shut these clowns up, it’s starts on Friday night against NZ, 3 players out for origin on top of our injury list, we can make excuses, but we fkn won’t, we’ll keep turning up and staying the games like we have all year (roosters only exception). Can’t wait till Friday night, gonna be at the game in the cold and us fans are gonna bring the colour, flags and noise and be the 14th man on the field and get our lads home !!!

WE ARE PENRITH !!!!

We'll be there as well.

I doubt he cares. He has too much in his favour. Played finals every year and won origin. He'd surely just be enjoying himself and trying to get that knee right.

I think his preference would be to keep Hook. But if Hook left I think he would give any new coach a chance too.

He's not stupid. He won't ddcide his future without putting thought into it.

I have no idea but constant criticism on Griffin usually relates to his match tactics.

I have supported Anthony Griffin but at the same time this is his third year in the job and I am concerned we still don't appear to have any real structure in attack. We still don't seem to have a proper 'plan' to convert good field position into points and our attack appears to be ad hoc for the most part. If we do actually have a 'plan' well it's not a very good one because we remain unconvincing when attacking inside our opponents 20 and that includes the supposed lesser sides as we saw on the weekend.

What’s the Cleary news I’ve missed?

Wait til Blake is back though. Having a centre that can break a tackle and runs straight instead of the crap Peachey dishes.

Maloney knows how to win. He will get us playing the style of footy we need. Just need him doing more then the odd session here

I know everyone loves reading the play :joy:

But fwiw he reckons Trent Barrett will be our coach in 2019. I’d almost prefer to keep hook if true.

Probably because Gus talked him up as a coach and to be fair Manly's issues aren't his fault.

Manly’s issues aren’t all his fault.

But he handled the Jackson Hastings thing poorly, he also has a penchant for bizarre bench selections. Has had 2 backs on the bench more than once this season.

Ciraldo had more success in lower grades anyway

That's the kind of info I was looking for earlier. That's good to know.

Yeah that was terrible. I wouldn't accept it at our club.

.

Barrett had Blake a few others in a stacked NYC team and missed the 8. Ciraldo got 2 sides to GF. Most of the players are still here. He'd be my pick for next coach. Probably look for the 2020 season though too early yet
