It seems he's earned that respect though.
End of 2017.
Last night / or early hours of the morning I went back and re-watched the last 2 games the Panfas played. Yep you're right it was pure raw talent that got them home.
If Panfas can get a coach who latches into that power and reigns it to work each and every week Panfas will be a powerhouse of a club.
I have no idea about tactics or game plans, what and how to do it all. But gee oh gee these players have talent with a captial T
Which is why this whole thing makes no sense. Gus said they were trying to sort out these issues for 12 months. Why re-sign him then
Agree with this. Have been saying it for 2 years now.
Yes, he did. He was also a underwhelmed by Bennett. Basically saying he was also too old and lacked innovation, but he did say that he surrounded himself with good people which infers that he listens to them and uses them, which Griffin apparently didn't.
Actually 18 months, they were hopeful that Griffin would eventually accept the assistance but he kept pushing it away. It hit boiling point recently.

seems so...He didn't like being asked in the presser if he was the problem though haha

Imo a costly and stupid mistake.
There were obviously problems last year. We could have waited till mid season this year to extend or get rid of him.

That was pretty funny.
Glad someone asked it. I think the same person said. 'Wow sacked the last 2 coaches and still got 12 applications'
I'm not surprised. We'd be one of the most popular choices now.
Gus just said on Fox Sports News that out of the 12 applications he has already received, some of them are from current NRL head coaches.ex coaches or assistants of course. Why would a current coach want the job though? No one finishes their contracts here
Why was extended so recently ? Was it activating clauses in contract or fulfilling KPI's ?

A part of me thinks they extended him out of spite to the media, fans (including me) and Matt Moylan.
