Yeah, this is not acceptable.Irrespective of anything else, that's simply unforgivable.

The other result if you win. Gould looks like a genius.Yep, he is pretty much in a no-lose situation right now. The players too, actually; they don't do anything in the finals, they can just blame it on the coaching turmoil. But if we make a great fist of it... champions. Could be an exciting couple of months.
Hmm, it is not entirely true to say "a coach should be left do his business". The models for a modern leader have moved on significantly from the old style directive "I'm the boss, I know best". A key skill for any leader is their ability to network with others and collaborate in the wider organisation. How do you encourage a team to play as team when as the coach, you are not a team player?
The other thing that is so obvious in all walks of life and industries, people just won't cop leaders who won't allow them input and listen to what they have to say. Controlling leaders make people feel devalued and worthless. It takes time, but eventually they just leave.
And my final point is this, if there is one quality in a leader that should scare you if you are a CEO or on a board, it is the "hero" quality. The "I can fix this and do it all because I'm a hero and heroes don't need help" type of leader. It is only a matter of time before they stuff up and drop everybody in it and you won't know until its too late, because they won't ask for help. I have come across people like this many times in business and their ego won't let them ask for help. A senior executive wanting to be "just left to do my business" is a warning sign for a future c**k up and staff leaving. Unless they are perfect of course, in which case leave them too it.......
Maybe Hook has seen too many Clint Eastwood movies and thinks he is Dirty Harry, he doesn't need any help, just his magnum 45 and in his case, a clipboard.
Company man? Lol no I am fan of the club, I bag them when I think they make bad decisions like getting rid of cleary in the first place and extending griffin, and I praise them for good decisions.
The guy wasn't doing his job, he was refusing help from his own staff and a much more experienced and accomplished man in Gould. He wasn't liked by the squad, his game plans had us regularly starting games giving up leads, the players were literally throwing his game plans out the window for two years and yet he still refused to work with anyone.
If we had sat here before the season started & someone told us player a, b, c, d, e will all out for extended periods this year but we'll likely be in the top 4 with 2 rounds remaining (potentially cemented a top 4 spot in the penultimate round) we all would be ecstatic. If you say anything otherwise you're lying.
His main KPI would be results & despite how we've played of late, he has ticked that box which I would say means he is doing his job.
I'm not saying he should of been kept past this season, there are obviously issues behind the scenes, but i'm not sure how anyone could argue he didn't deserve the opportunity to see out the year. If it's about our 'window' & this being our only chance, then why have we signed up all our players long term? Our window should be open the next 5+ years.
Irrespective of anything else, that's simply unforgivable.
Our last 3 performances are the reason he couldn’t see out the year. He lost the right to see out the year when he walked out on the team 7 minutes early. The players were off him, they weren’t playing for him, getting rid of him improves our chances at winning, how can you not see that?
If we had of lost the manly and raiders games we’d be sitting in like 7th or 8th right now. We only won those games because they threw Hooks game plan out the window, he was hurting our chances at victory not helping them.
& if we'd lost every game this year we'd be running last...
The proof is in the pudding. We have every chance of securing a top 4 position & he has been at the helm. They're the facts.
Punt him at the end of the year if you're not happy, not with 4 rounds remaining.
Don't forget that Griffin could have stayed on till the offseason but they agreed it would be too awkward.
Oh, you were there, what else was said?Gould left him no choice

Facts without context mate, means f**k all.
The guy walked out of a game 7 minutes early ffs, no comment on that Martie? Youre so biased its a joke, at least I can admit im wrong sometimes.
TBH in regards to him going to the dressing room with 7 minutes left, I think it's a bit of a non event. As @Fangs said, there would be bigger issues then that, even i can see that. Maybe it's something leaked by the club to give the decision more credibility... like it or not the vast majority can't believe we've sacked a coach 4 weeks out from the finals when we're equal 4th & he's dealt with a huge injury list.
& what is the context i'm missing with our results? I've not said anything incorrect.
I don't agree with the decision to sack him now, I would of waited to the end of the year. Not sure that makes me biased especially given the vast majority agree with me. That being said, it's an opinion, not sure I can be wrong anyway?
