That's such horseshit TBH, Edmond the fake tough guy was walking around like a wannabe mafia hit man and acting like a bully making empty threats all season long on TUF, and let's not forget the disdain Ronda's crew showed all season long
I'm a big fan of Rousey... But I agree 100%

Wasn't it in brazil where silva kicked his head off?

That was in Vegas...

If weidman struggles with him I'll consider him a bit of a nobody, and I'll consider the middleweight division dead.

That's because you have no f**king idea what your talking about....

The division is hardly dead.... With or without a dominating champion like Silva.

I think whoever the champion is will struggle to hold the title for any extended period... And that includes Weidman and Anderson Silva.

There's just too many killers in that division... Especially with the likes of Machida dropping down.

With Silva's reign over now... The MW division is about to be the most exciting it's been years.

Yep I think the middleweight division is exciting now and there's lots of potential champs.

I'd even be curious on Sonnen vs Weidman.

I think Lombard still has alot to offer at MW, would like to see him up against Chael or Nick Diaz
Chael will eat him for breakfast... Will take him down with absolute ease and just beat the shit out of him.

I'd love to see Wanderlei or Brian Stann fight Lombard... Both guys would stand with him which will make it a fun fight...

At WW I'd like to see Lombard fight a good striker... Maybe see how safferdene(sp?) goes this weekend.

Has chael ever beat anyone? he was anderson's bogey opponent, which is impressive, but apart from that he's done nothing to justify acting like he's a good fighter. It's possible just to be a poor matchup for a good fighter while not actually being that good. I could see lombard beating him honestly.

Shogun
Bisping
Okami, Who beat Lombard

Chael would kill Lombard.

In the last 5 years he has only lost to
Jones
Rashad
Anderson x2

No shame in that.

Meh Chaels alright perennial top 10 guy wherever he goes, has had a few title shots got a bright post fight future. Pretty good career IMO.

What's the thoughts on Cormier vs Rashad? Winner gets jones or winner gets Gustafson in #1 contenders match. The front of the line at LHW is very cluttered ATM with these 3 and Glover.

LHW is way more interesting than middleweight, always has been, and now even more so that anderson has pressumably died on a hospital bed in brazil somewhere.

Rashad is really good, I think underestimated by a lot of people, but cormier will probably beat him IMO. Cormier is cray good and may beat even jones, but jones should be favoured over every one. Gustafson won't worry JBJ again, but then I thought the same of weidman/silva. Could be a bogey opponent like chael is to silva, and if so has a chance of an upset.

I think I barring injury to the champ... Gus will get the rematch with JJ if he handles Jimmy Manuwa as expected.

The a Winner of Rashad V DC is right up there though... It really depends on who wins though...

If rashad wins I'd say he probably needs one more dominant win against Glover or Gus to get another fight with JJ such was the way he was beaten in the first fight.

I dont know if Gus should get the rematch based on how he handles Manuwa, definitely agree that he WAS next in line but he should be fighting someone in the top 5.

I agree that he should be fighting someone tougher... Really he should be fighting Cormier... As Rashad isn't close enough himself...

But the gus v JJ rematch is a massive deal for the UFC... It will do massive numbers...

They put him in with Manuwa for 2 reasons...

1 - while no fight is a gimme... This shouldn't put the big rematch in jeopardy too much...

2 - they wanted to put Gus up against a local fighter on the London card... And they wanted to use Gus as bait to draw in fight pass subscribers...

Ahhh yeah the Token Local. Gus better be on his game. All it takes is a shock loss or a snooze fest win to be out of the picture.

Surely by the time this thread gets to 200 pages admin could step in and create a dedicated "Combat Sports" sub-forum? I'm certain the MMA fans would be happy to share it with the Boxing fans.

There's a rarely used Motorsports Forum just sitting there waiting.....
