Also Nate Diaz looked amazing, fantastic performance, love those Diaz bros.

 <---- that was my face after that performance.

how good was he.... that was probably the most impressive performance ive seen from either Diaz brother... which says a lot because Nick is a BEAST!!

just the utter dominance on the feet... and the milliseconds we saw the fight on the ground his BJJ looked Garcia-Esq!!

Yeah his boxing was so crisp. Perfect range then the cOmplete ownage on the ground.

Agreed on nick being a beast as well. Both guys are so well rounded. Hectic hearing rogan sayin they run triathlon's as another form of fitness.

Lesnar is in recovery from another bout of what he had last time (cant remember what its called sorry), he is actually scheduled to fight Overeem in his UFC debut in December.

Just heard today that Evans vs Jones has been put off again due to a hand injury to Rashaad, so UFC 140 will now be headlined by a fight thats almost just as exciting in Jones vs Machida.

Machidas style could be the 1st real test for Bones so far, but i still think his reach will make it very hard for Machida to be able to jump in and out of range like he likes to do.

Great ppv this weekend too, lightweight and featherweight belts on the line, pretty good card, should be fun.

f**k yes this is awesome! Machida for the win! Poor old Rashad can't catch a break can he? Hopefully the UFC does the right thing and gives him the winner of the Jones/Machida fight

Machida???

are they serious??

I think its a terrible fight. Machida's style just makes him a punching/kicking bag against JJ.

Machida's style means he's most comfortable fighting from a distance... which is JJ down to a tee... i struggle to see how Machida does any damage. JJ reach will destroy him.

theres no way that machida stays in the pocket long enough for him to consistently find his range.

then theres there recent fights... Machida has lost to shogun and rampage.

Jon Jones has just destroyed the same 2 guys.... that speaks volumes about this match up IMO...

they should have just delayed it until Rashad was fit again.

Wow!!! Edgar is absolutely stunning. So much heart. Brilliant performance. Amazing footwork and head movement stopped gray after the initial 1 rd massacre. Who's next for the answer

You would think it would be the winner of Henderson & Guida. There are plenty of contenders to pick from.

Or the Strikeforce Lightweight champ, Gilbert Melendez.

Would be awesome to see Diego Sanchez come back to lightweight now that BJ left the division. He dominated Guida a couple years ago and could make a good run at the title IMO.

Problem is no one is going to match Frankie's Boxing. His movement is amazing. In and out constNtly changing angles and forms of attack. Least we'll get to see a different match up.

What are the odds Frankie to drop to 145 in the near future. 2 belts simultaneously would be amazing.

Yeah just read that. Shame, don't see why a champion VS champion fight with Aldo couldn't happen.
Much prefer Frankie to defend the belt against a few different opponents before changing divisions.

How'd everyone rate the event. Loved it myself, from lauzon destroying Melvin to Chael continuing on his asshole gimmick to the 2 title fights, thought it was a great card. Crowd was rabid at times.

Oh and I reckon you'd need a bat to put out beltrane's lights. Tough as nails.

Awesome card, Lauzon winning was a shock, but i was very happy for him.
Edgars heart is second to none, maynard must be devestated, two fights in a row he had the belt in his grasp within 1 round, for Frankie to compose himself and come back strong and save his title.

In saying that, i expect the next card with the GSP/Condit and Penn/Diaz fights to be even better.

absolute bollocks... apart from up kicks which happen in the scramble... when have you ever seen someone hurt from strikes from the bottom??

strikes from the bottom are only effective when there used to set up sweeps and submission attempts.... so they shouldnt be scored unless they follow up with a sweep or sub attempt.

come on dude... this shit is basic...

Hurt, maybe not. But for a guy who spent 90% of a fight in the top position Sonnen was nicely dusted up. More so than silva.

Basic indeed...

H. Strikes thrown from the top position of the guard, are generally heavier and more effective than those thrown from the back. 1. Thus a Judge shall recognize that effective strikes thrown from the top guard position are of "higher quality", than thrown from the bottom. 2. The Judge shall recognize that this is not always the case. However, the vast majority of fighters prefer the top guard position to strike from. This is a strong indication of positional dominance for striking.

Therefore if the cleaner strikes are being thrown by the man on his back, they score.
