Robson has had 150 games of first grade, Bird about 1/10th of that many.
Bird deserves more time & should'nt be compared to his halves partner.
Robson is our halfback & we have to live with it, no better alternative, this year.
I'm happy with what we have lined up next year for the halves but I am not writing bird off as 5/8. Wouldn't surprise me if Maloney ends up as half.
I do think Flanno has been very good in his recruitment since he joined us, his best attribute.
Bird actually being compared to Carney, not Robson. Carney was the long term plan for 6 because he was the perfect foil for Robson. Bird is not. Bird is not a 5/8s quoit. The surprise factor of the first few games is gone, the inexperience is showing and the grind of his first full NRL season is showing. He's played more footy in 14 NRL games than he would of played in 2 full seasons of NYC or NSW Cup. Such is the difference in standard.
Im sure he'll live up to his potential eventually. When his stamina builds, he fills out more and gains more tricks etc. But as it stands now he is past my 10 game cooling off period and is open slather for criticism.
There is 2 halves one has played over 100 games the other just over 10, that half with all the experience should be taking pressure off the rookie to play his own game, but Robson take no pressure off anyone
Then who takes the pressure off Robson dickhead? He is under more pressure than anyone else in the team. Why should the rookie, in a pivotal position, play his own game outside of the team plan. Half the problem is that he is playing his own brand of letchagogotcha as it is.
