Why are we still waiting for a change in venue 36 hrs after? It's making the NRL look even more incompetent.

Is this the NRL's responsibility? Surely the clubs are responsible for stadium contracts and arranging venues for club games?

Of course, but the NRL should've stepped in quickly to save the sport from further embarrassment. Move the game to Thursday (and destroy the pitch for the fumbleballers).

There's talk that the game will be switched to Saturday, with Nine choosing a Saturday game to move to Friday.

Of the three Saturday games, one is Warriors vs Raiders so we can forget about that. The others are Tigers vs Souths and Manly vs Storm.

Now, given the choice between a game that is 15th vs 1st and a game that is 3rd vs 4th, I think it's pretty obvious to everyone which game Nine would be pushing hard for....

New Canterbury chief executive Raelene Castle said she was told Channel 9 would be happy to take the Wests Tigers-South Sydney game (originally scheduled for Saturday night at Allianz Stadium) as their Friday night game.

Screw that. What about us Souths and Tigers fans who have already made plans for that Friday night?

Typical NRL. Instead of simply moving it to Thursday, they're gonna ruin the plans of the supporters of 4 clubs with less than a month's notice.

And I'm sure Des really appreciates that his new CEO is "happy" for the Dogs to have a 4 day break between rounds 25 and 26...

A group of us were talking about this in a pub tonight ( some people I knew & others I only met at the bar ) and something interesting was raised. One person said they've heard that the round 26 game between Broncos and Bulldogs won't be on the Thursday, it'll be played on Friday of that round.

Having one Thursday game and one Friday game seems far better for ch9 anyway. Having 2 games on Friday night is stupid and is only hurting our overall ratings.

I hope they put souths and the tigers on friday night at alliance.

That means I can go to that game.

Still a disgrace by the NRL and ANZ for this c**k up.

Gibbsy on 2ue reckons the Dogs started selling tickets for the Panthers game despite not having officially booked the stadium.

I don't understand why it's so hard to just move it to the Thursday. Channel 9 would be happy and the Bulldogs will get a 7 day turnaround.

maybe ANZ won't allow it as it might upset their AFL pals if a game is played on it the night before the pink poofs game

It's the principle mate - this is piss-weak from the NRL.

So for all the chest beating about getting bent over by ANZ stadium and the AFL, if the above is true it simply comes back to someone at the Bulldogs (and possibly the NRL) not doing their job properly? How f**king hard is it?

The Bulldogs have the stadium leased until 2020. Having first priority of the stadium means this shit shouldn't even be an issue. I guess no one from Stadium Australia Group thought about that!

The article in the telegraph today says the AFL has the stadium booked for the friday and saturday since last October. The nrl never checked the stadiums availability before releasing the round.

Probably been covered but does anyone know how much the Swanns pay for the stadium vs the Dogs?

And what are each teams home game attendance averages?

I'd say he is either gauging the interest for AFL in the states or getting ideas for the AFL from the big american sports....in other words he is taking an all expenses paid holiday.

An all expenses paid holiday in the middle of a crisis. What a classy guy.
