I can just see the AFL moving a collington vs essingpeptidedon game from the MCG to cater for a Storm vs Roosters game.

And the NRL was supposed to give a shit about this when they scheduled FNF?

Pissweak leadership at Moore Park and Belmore to not stand their ground and tell the VFL and ANZ to get stuffed.

If it was our home game being bumped, we wouldn't have copped it.
I think you'll find The Bulldogs don't have the final word here. The ARL stuffed up.

If this were true, there wouldnt be an issue.

Who else uses it 1-2 times a week for 30 weeks a year?

How many corporates Stadium members Would they lose without these guaranteed games?

Throw in SOO and Finals there has to be a reason why RL gets paid to play there.

$100k a game or something it is so:

10 Bulldogs games
10 Souths games
2 Parra
4 Tigers (2014)

26 games. $2.6m they pay to RL. How much would they make then??

So yeah they need us more

Here is what probably happened. The Sydney Swans play 3 games a year at ANZ Stadium. This year one game was a road game against GWS, one was against Collingwood, and the other (because it was a GF rematch) against Hawthorn. For some unknown reason, the AFL scheduled the match for the last round of the year. And for the final round, what the AFL does is schedule teams that will play in the finals series earlier in the round to give them rest heading into the finals. The only guaranteed matchup of finals teams is Hawthorn vs Sydney (if you discount the Essendon vs Richmond matchup because of the potential of Essendon getting stripped of points). It would be natural of the AFL to schedule on Friday Night. For some unknown reason, the someone in the AFL forgot to check to see if there are any conflicts at ANZ Stadium. And that is how we got to this point. (But really, 9, Penrith vs Bulldogs over Manly vs Melbourne. And you call yourself "the Home of Rugby League?")

Exactly right, how on earth did they think a Bulldogs/Penrith match would rate better than a Manly/Melbourne game on a Friday night?

Have they suddenly turned away since that confrontation between Stewart and Blair?

Aside from the fight itself, the game was pretty good and I believe last year's was too.

Look its disappointing we have bend over backwards for the AFL, which I understand they want a huuugge match played at ANZ Stadium, probably get a bigger crowd than the Bulldogs/Penrith match wouldve got.

If it was say Bulldogs against Storm, or Bulldogs vs Manly at ANZ, then I wouldve definately told the AFL to f**k off back the SCG.

Ch 9 are ruining the game with their silly selections on Friday night and Sunday alvo.

And you wonder why the TV ratings are down.

One day these small clubs will get themselves a true home ground venue of their own, putting an end to debacles like this.

What other 83,000 seater stadium do we have in Sydney for the Grand Final and Origin?

Less then half ACTUALLY are onsale for the Public. So the loss wouldn't be as big.

That aside we have no issue getting the ground for big games. We don't even come close to filling the 80k seater.

So it's simple Bulldogs & Souths get 1st choice or we don't play comp games there.

There's a reason why they pay 100k a game to get tennants there. Lets see how much they back off when that is threatened

TV coverage is as shit as ever with 1 live game a week on 9, shoulder charge banned, game getting softer with other stupid rules like the tackled in the air penalty which is written horribly and enforced even worse, losing crowd attendance numbers, refereeing seems even worse and now giving into the AFL.
Burn the commission.

We can move them to the SFS and then tell QLD how much more passionate we are because look how much quicker it sells out then their origin game in a bigger stadium...

Alternatively what other 3 events are ANZ management going to find to replace the Origin/GF sell out games to sell to their members/sponsors?

I think the majority of stadium members are sports fans, as opposed rugby league fans, but I recon there would still be a decent dip in renewals if RL was no longer played at the ground.
