'Dangerous' issue exposed after Foxx poaching bid
'I don't think it's right for the game'wwos.nine.com.au
This needs its own thread, but I hate this. I absolutely hate it.
Now we're going to continue to get this absolutely ridiculous situation where top 8 teams start feasting on the carcass of teams out of the running towards the end of the year. Mmmmm let me get a Walsh, a Doueihe, an Addo-Carr...oh okay no to those, let's get a Nofoaluma.
f**k me, Nofoaluma is contracted to the Tigers until the end of 2025. I thought it would only be situations like Reece Walsh, who was leaving the Warriors anyway, or Pangai Junior.
No f**king way players who are still on contract should be loaned out for finals campaigns. Especially big-name players - if you want John Smith the 2-game battler, OK. I understand your roster has been hit by injury. But not Origin players, for f**k's sakes.
1000% correct.
I hated when the Roosters did it with SBW, I hated it even more with TPJ at the Panthers last year, and now it's just getting ridiculous (especially with the amount of players they've targeted before jagging one)
The date needs to be rolled back to end of June ASAP.
As for the Nofoaluma situation in particular - I just can't understand it from the Tigers POV. Sure they save ~$100k. But what if he does an ACL, or Pec injury? What does this do for team morale? You've got guys busting their gut every week for no reward, and Nofo is like "Cya in September. Lulz." and bounces off to the Storm. And then has to come back and look those same guys in the eye in 2023 and try to convince them that he'll have their back week in week out while they go to war. Nope.
Only works if Tigers are looking to get out of his contract.
But still, it's a shit look, and a putrid trend that needs to be banned.
