1-0 up heading to Adelaide beats any psychological advantage from a draw.

There is not enough time to bowl Australia out - and why risk the match let alone giving Australia any positives.

Just tire them out and slowly break their spirit.

Imagine 700-1 at the end of Day 5 - wholesale changes to Aus bowling attack. Now the fans on here think that will be wonderful but it will not improve the feeling in team let alone confidence. Spirit breaking.

I really think that 60 overs aint enough time to bowl Aussie - I'd be giving Pieterson some time in the middle to further find form.

agree

Except the Aussies won't change bowling attack, overwhelming cocktail of arrogance and stupidity!

They already have their psychological advantage by batting out a day and a half and losing 1 wicket. England don't need to win the series they just need to avoid defeat and a draw here getting their top 3 or 4 in form heading in to a road is a massive boost for them considering the position they were in at the start of day 4 and now that is one less test Australia can win.

Dump North and Johnson, bring in Bollinger and Ferguson, Khawaja, or Smith. Keep Doherty in the side and use Smith as an allrounder (like Johnson) so we have dual spinners permanently. Love dual spinners. Alternatively an out and out batsman. Hussey has probably saved himself for the next 3-6 months.

You sure you wanna throw away the best strike bowler?

I got a crazy idea

Katich
Hughes
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke (Khwaja if Clarke injured)
Haddin
Watson
Smith
Bollinger
Harris
Hilfenhaus

Bollinger and Harris are wicket takers. Smith certainly has the potential, and on a spin friendly adelaide wiket, should get some wickets.

Johnson and North particularly cannot be carried into the next test. Clarke should step aside for a test if not 100%

whats the point of bowling Johnson now... FFS

139.1
Johnson to Cook, 4 byes, Haddin shakes his head in disbelief here as Billy Doctrove calls byes for a delivery that Haddin couldn't possibly have reached, diving to his right. Another leg-side stinker from Johnson, that should have been called a wide.

Smith is a batsmen you guys are trying to make the next Warne. You'll break him.

What is the issue with that? We have four batsman that have rarely contributed in the last 18 months and even though Smith will only ever be as good as a part time spinner is still superior to anything we have bar O'Keefe. I would have Smith replace North to do the job as a batsman and tweak his leggies when required.
