Using the word "talent", when referring to Idol, is a travesty unless it is preceded by the phrase "lack of"...

Lisa- country/pop
Dean- modelling
Jessica- traditional pop
Chris- Rock/pop
Bobby- not sure his genre but he'll be a success
Damien- soft rock/pop
Reigan- Country/pop

That is 6 singers who will be a success after this series!

Let's face it, this is the reason music these days is in such a horrid state. You hit a few notes on a TV show and bam! you get a deal that allows you to mass produce drivel for all the 13 year ols girls out there. Idol is a cancer on the music industry and prevents the real talent of this country from getting the recognition it should.

Why does that prevent the 'real' talent from getting the recognition they should. If they have real talent then they should be able to get a record deal, particuarly considering how easy it is apparently.:roll:

this is real talent. The difference is they've had a break and can be seen by potential record execs. A head start makes it no less an achievement.

I would have agreed with you in past years but this year it has been better. If anything I watch the show because it produces a conversation topic when I go back to work on Mondays, lol. Then when its over and like last year the talent pretty much bombed out I wonder why I keep watching. But come July again, I'm a sucker and fall for it again. :?

It would be good if they had a show like this to start up an unsigned band or something.

btw you must be resentful of lottery winners, since all they had to do was write a ticket and suddenly, millionaires!

Anthony Calea - doing well
The blonde from last year - doing better with the Divas
last years r/u - doing nothing without the Divas

I think Dean will do well cause of his looks.
Damien is a natural to succed in 'International' music.
