Schedule a Challenge Cup or shift Origins to October then you'll find out.

Obviously Origin is a higher priority, but the post-season factor has huge ramifications on everybody.

I think it would be the same like we pay our players and it's a home series. So I can't think of a reason not to play

Who's gonna be the backup half for the Aussies? Obviously Cronk and DCE will be the starting halves but i'm curious to see who they have to slot in because of injury/against Samoa.

Inglis will be fullback simply because we have no depth at right centre. Jennings and Walker are both left centres and either one could do the job, but Hayne is our only available option at right centre.

Anyone else think Johnston is a bit overrated? Good player for sure but the vast majority of his tries are on the end of superb backline movements. For mine, Mansour should be the first winger picked. I'd probably play Walker out of position in front of Tupou and Johnston as well.

Hayne will be one centre. Walker and Jennings will fight it out for the other spot. Split decision on this one - on form you would have to say Walker is playing better than any other centre in the comp, but Jennings rarely has a poor game in a rep jumper or for the Roosters.

Halves will obviously be DCE and Cronk. Not sure if Sheens will take a backup half but in order i would prefer Hunt, then Pearce, then Reynolds. LOL@Hodkinson... probably the best halfback in the comp from the 75th to 80th minute. Absolute shithouse for the first 75 minutes.

Smith at hooker. Back-up will most likely be Farah but i'd prefer Jake Friend for the experience as i believe he will be the future AUS and QLD hooker.

We are very light on props. Parker, McGuire and Woods are decent options but apart from that i wouldn't be very comfortable. Next best are Lillyman, Lawrence, Klemmer, Tolman, Napa, Mannah... not too much to excited about there.

In the backrow we have plenty of good options. I'd probably start with Cordner, Hoffman and Bird at lock (Thaiday will most likely spend his time at Prop due to our lack of options). Watmough, Guerra, Papalii, Beau Scott and Josh Jackson to fight it out for a bench spot.

Why are people saying Dylan Walker is a left centre? Hayne said it as well, wonder what he was smoking over in the US. Dylan Walker has played 90% of the season at right centre for the premiers and has done an outstanding job. Are people confused between right and left or have they never watched a souths game?

Hunt and Cronk in the halves for me. Evans and Pearce defend on the right, and usually attack on the that half of the field. Hunt obviously defends on the left. Not that Evans shouldn't be able to cope with moving to the left, as he has won a Clive Churchill, so he should be quite a good player.

Surely G Inglis is gonna pull out, his hip was dodgy vs. the Roosters recently. Hayne to fullback, Jennings and Dylan Walker in the centres. Mansour and D Toopow. Mansour will have to do his best on the right.

I am pretty confident the Kiwis will not be concerned about facing the likes of Woods and Parker is this is what the Aussies are considering..

There are a lot of holes in their squad and this could be prime opportunity for the Poms or Kiwis to dominate.

I would have actually backed England to beat the team Australia are going to field if they had S.Burgess, still a very good chance without him.

For the good of the sport and to teach us Aussies a lesson I hope nz or eng meet in the final, but I really hope they aren't as cocky or complacent as some of their supporters on here. Just remember spud, you havnt beaten us in any sort of series or tournament for 40 years!

Best of luck to all anyway!

With Slater, Hodges, Boyd, Thurston and both Morris brothers out of their backline to go with a very depleted pack missing the likes of Gallen, Scott, Tamou, Myles, Lewis and Gillett. Its the most vulnerable the Kangaroos have been in years.

England will give them a shake because they are realy starting to develop a world class side. As will the Kiwis who look solid again and get a home final

I agree with pretty much everything youve said...

Fullback will be INGLIS with the JENNINGS/TUPOU combination being on that left side. Right centre will be HAYNE and as you said Johnston is over-rated. Sure hes a flashy finisher but doesnt bring nearly as much as what MANSOUR does. Hes the best winger in the NRL at the moment. Hes also played a bit on the right side before and is playing there this weekend against PNG. Yep, DCE and CRONK is the obvious halves combination and SMITH is still the worlds best hooker, keeps his role uncontested. Up front is where the weakness lies and will be the reason Australia get beaten if they do. Id start with WOODS and PAPALII as I think THAIDAY is better suited out wide and therefore keeps his role in the back row. Id also have HOFFMAN and BIRD Starting. My bench would consist of either BEN HUNT or JOSH REYNOLDS who both would play that utility role covering the halves and hooker. CORDNER covers the back row with JOSH MCGUIRE being my prop on the bench. COREY PARKER gets the final spot as he can cover anywhere in the pack and whos offloads are extremely effective mid way through each half when the opposing middles are getting tired

yes thats right , just opened a massive can of worms. 1st picked team has alot injuries, and need resting , that means the young guns, up and at them youngsters will play there very best , take the opportunity too force there way up, and make a statement, they dont want to let down the mighty kangaroos:cool::lol:
thats the attitude...

you soften them up for us in brisbane and we'll finish them off in melbourne....
soften them up , but no white flag yet spud
