JDB is playing fine and he can tackle as opposed to Hunt & Harrison. When I was at the Cutters game they played JDB, Thompson, Harrison, Stockwell, Matthews etc and JDB was a class above anyone else on the field. Against Souths & Easts he stopped the big men in their tracks. He is a first class defender and is a future leader but shldnt have expectations above that at this stage in his career.
Au Mau has shown he's capable but has dropped off completely. He seems to have self preservation in mind but it cld also be the same as all our forwards that as we don't have any decoys they are all sitting ducks.
still no reason to attempt to kill off the leagues club, whom the football club relies on for financial grants.
i dont believe harming the leagues club in any way is the answer.
They both tie in together. Those on the football club board are also on the leagues club board.
Maybe encourage people to actually go to the Leagues Club and spend their money?
See, this is where the good intentions of a few break down with out realising the ramifications of their actions.
We need the Leagues Club to be successful to assist with Football Club grants. Rather than reducing the grant as has happened for the last 5 years, imagine if we had a strong Leagues Club that happily provided huge funding each year for the better of the football? (Think Bulldogs !)
People that live there can join the Leagues Club and if as passionate as some make out, why not put your name in the ring and look towards making change on how things are currently run?
It's a huge task but it needs to happen...otherwise this club will go the way of local bowling clubs.
A young team of entrepreneurial types , willing to have a go and make changes to:
1- The running of the leagues club.
2- The profitability of the Leagues Club
3- The existing Leagues Club management
4- The constitution and control of the Rugby League Football Club and/or Joint Venture Boards.
Join as a Leagues Club member, not a Red V member and have your say....Leagues Club members can make changes and have voting rights. Existing leagues Club Directors won't make changes? Vote for someone that will, or nominate someone that will ....that's how you do it.
And if you speak with those that have tried this option it is extremely hard to do. If the current board get a whiff of someone going up against them they change the voting rules or ban people from the club.
The people that need replacing are not going to go easily. Unfortunately short term pain for long term gain will be required.
I believe that we wouldn't need a huge grant from the leagues club if we had a board running the football club that could maximise the clubs potential.
Maybe it wasn't done properly? ;-)
It can be done, it just doesn't need broadcasted.
Speak to some of the people who tried this as part of R2K.
Some of them reported police knocking on their doors and all other kinds of low acts just because they tried to challenge the status quo
Your answer is in your post ;-)
Against the better packs AhMau has no hope.
He showed glimpses against struggling teams.
also showed glimpses when a contract was needed... and then back to usual crappy self.

Things are shit, true.
Putting the club into further financial distress smacks of a looming disaster to me given that we are already struggling.
If we want risk contributing to the death of the club in trying to change the administration include me out.
The Leagues club is central to the long term health of the club. I understand and respect you're point of view. Mine is the club can be made healthy again but not with the current board in place. In my view it's change the board or watch the club continue to die a very slow death.
