Beau had feet for hands when he played for us.

He got better, much better, was always a tough nut, but could not catch the ball.

Where did I say that???

You don't think he's been in our top 3 players this first month???

No because his attack has been ordinary. I agree he's been one of our best defenders, and I'm sure we bought him for that reason alone. But his lack of attack drops him out of our top three players, for mine.

That said, he is very noticeable in defence - he's smart, aggressive and technically excellent. Little things like holding the wrist of the attacker's ball carrying arm, and the way he repositions himself to get under the attacker and stop them getting to ground quickly. f**king awesome. And I love a bit of surreptitious niggle too. Merkins must hate playing against him.

But he's not even in our top ten attackers, IMO.

Have to admit I was weary about signing Scott when we already had Watmough. his 2015 season for Newcastle was poor. However he has proved to be a very good pick up and is doing exactly what BA wanted him for, toughening up defence. He has given our D a real hard edge. Great signing BA.

Surely a team is better off having an inspiring defender who's a mediocre attacker, than having a bunch of players who are only OK at both?

Maybe we should just leave it to BA to exploit what each player brings to the game and mould the team around those qualities.

Please rate our 2016 players in order of attacking prowess so far
