Really? They should stock it. I do, is even in the 1st Choice DC in NSW...then again, Pacific Ale is a long term out of stock at the moment

I just popped up to my local 1st Choice and they def do not have it there, cause this may be due to the shortage in stock that you mentioned. Im keen to try it seeing as it topped that list on the last page.

Also, they were selling the 28 Pale for $19.50 a six pack so I guess its not just BWS selling it at that price here in Brisbane.

Anyone tried that Kiwi beer "Tui"? I saw it there and it was priced pretty decently

It's not too bad, only ever drink it while in NZ and only then because the local is small and only really has Tui and Speights on tap, and speights is pretty ordinary.

It's worth trying it just to see but it doesn't rate IMO.

Tui isn't a bad drop, worth trying if you're looking for something different. Dan's has got 28 Pale for $17 a 6-pack or $60 a carton I was just there before

It was the Tui Pale Ale I saw

Had a couple of beers that Ive not tried before yesterday

1. PepperJack Ale: Very nice drop this one. Less bitter than most of the darker ales Ive had and the hint of berry was just that, a hint not too overpowering.

2. White Rabbit White Ale: Awful. Was like a watery mix of beer and cider and was way too carbonated. Interesting to note that the bottle was stamped with Little Creatures.

Interesting to note that the bottle was stamped with Little Creatures.

White Rabbit is owned by Little World, which also own Little Creatures. Kirin has a forty percent stake in Little World.

So I guess these two are another couple we can cross off the 'craft breweries' list.

Recently, I've been developing a renewed love affair with German Wheat Beers. More specifically, the Hefeweissens, or cloudy/yeasty varieties.

It started with Erdinger of course, but I've moved onto a couple of others that are available in the Australian market - Schofferhofer and Weihenstaphaner. They all share very similar characteristics - the rich cloudiness, the high carbonation which gives intense aromas of banana and clove and a long-lasting head and a full bodied flavour. They really are the result of some masterful brewing.

Apparently, some people really dislike Wheat Beers. It's difficult for me to see why. Perhaps it is the high carbonation, it may leave some feeling a little bloated. But other than that, I can't find any fault with the style.

I'm going to continue drinking more wheat beers over the next few weeks, including some Australian varieties, it should be interesting to see how our beers compare. The combination of flavours is just too intoxicating for me, and I can't resist. Happy to hear any suggestions for good Aussie wheat beers.

I'm a massive fan of Erdinger, and enjoy a Schofferhofer every now and then, but I could never really get into the Weihenstaphaner for some reason, it's just got too much flavour for my liking. Not a big fan of Aussie wheat beers either, they really can't compare to the German variety

Funny you say that, I thought Weihenstaphaner was the weakest of the three also. Still an incredible beer though.

I expected as much from the Aussie beers, but it's always interesting to see what some breweries are doing.

I am one of those horrible people Desert Qlder that is not a fan of Heferweisen. For me, it's the acidity and citrus flavours that turn me away from the style.

No judgment here mate. I can't really enjoy Australian Pilsners myself, but others seem to love them.

Not that I'm not trying, Cooper's 62 is a nice start and not horrifically over-hopped like others.

My concentration was absent when I selected Little Creatures Rogers' Beer from the shelf. Here I was thinking this Amber Ale could be a value buy at $17.00 for the sixpack.

It was only later with close inspection that I realised it was a midstrength. Suddenly it didn't seem such a bargain, and I was left judging with the thought it could be one of the top brews from a well established Australian brewery.

Looks great in the glass, with an earthy, amber colour and a good head. It promises much upon pouring, some zesty citrus and hoppy characters come bursting out of the glass. But this is a beer that starts with a bang and tapers away pretty rapidly. It hits a wall mid palate, and leaves a farily unpleasant aftertaste. But to its credit it is drinkable, and I'd knocked down three in pretty quick succession. It's only been later when I've no longer judged it according to my original standards that I'd say it's not a bad beer, especially considering its ABV.

I'll pay more attention next time, because I don't really like drinking mid and light beers unless I'm driving. And Rogers' is hardly worth considering in those circumstances given its exorbitant cost.

I'm not much of a pilsner man myself, there aren't too many that I get along with. Krombacher is one that I always seem to enjoy
