Wheat beer home brew bottled and secondary fermentation as we speak.

Beer was highly carbonated upon bottling so the head should be sensational in a months time. Sneaky tasting revealed exactly the flavours I was looking for, so signs are promising. There is definitely the banana and clove notes that wheat beers are famous for. It is after all an Erdinger clone.

First batch of Lager is ready for drinking but am holding off to wet the head of my second child, any day now! Not expecting much as it was the standard Cooper's Lager but as long as it is drinkable I'll be happy.

Nothing I love more than a good bargain, apart from beer of course. So when I can combine the two I'm always happy.

Gage Premium for ten bucks a sixpack at Woolies, and for good reason. Not much of a drop here, almost no aroma or taste to speak of, but a vegie-like aftertaste that kept me sipping, so not all bad. Breweries should be done for fraud for using the term 'premium' on these beers, it makes no sense at all.

Won't be drinking again.

Well, they are owned by Woolies (at least that's how I remember it being). Gage Roads is now their "Premium" home brand with Sail & Anchor, also brewed by Gage Roads, their regular home brand.

That explains it. I didn't bother finding out anything about them, was passing through, saw it there and grabbed it.

When I worked for Liquorland Hotels I always said retailers make shit publicans, not surprised they make shit brewers as well.

I wish they'd just slap the regular old home brand label on them so we know exactly what we're getting

I was over the moon to learn that one of the bars near my new pad stocks Franziskaner. Add to that Tsingtao is around 80 cents for a 750ml bottle and I'm in beer heaven.

One i've always rated is Fat Yak, barely saw it in pubs awhile ago and is a pretty common sight now

Yeah the Yak is a good drop

Picked up a sixie of Kilkenny cans yesterday for $14. Not as nice as the tap version but still a very drinkable beer

Tried the Vale Dry last night. Over carbonated and generally terrible. Considering the Vale Pale and Vale Dark are so good its hard to understand how they got this one so terribly wrong

Also tried the Macs Sassy Red. Nice drop

Anyone tried Solitos? Tequila flavoured beer. Taste is hard to describe but is more like a straight cordial then anything else

Bud is ordinary. For some reason though I reckon the stuff we get here is actually better than the stuff in the states. Odd, really

Bud is very middle of the road imo. Miller is the best of the American "generic" beer but thats not saying much really. Id never by Bud here in Oz unless it was rediculously cheap

Tried it and didn't think much of it.

Drinking a Coopers Pale at the moment
 What a beer

Had a Hoegarden tonight from work, not bad, bit different. Was expecting overwhelming flavour, didnt get that, but nice enough.

Stocking up on free longnecks of shit beers at present

I'm up in Sydney til Thursday and I'm currently in the front bar of the Sando on my second schooner of Resch's Draught. I'm surprised how much I love it. Cool, crisp, warm weather beer. Can't go wrong really!
