Being a proudly practising alcoholic....:sarcasm:

Don't give me XXXX Mould or Virgin Backwash. And keep those pretentious imported wank beers away from my liver.

Just give me a pallet of these ones here....the brand that are empties but full ones thanks..."hick".

so kinda forgot how potent coopers sparkling ale is..

used to drink it ages ago, but gave it away as i found i was a dickhead on it (high ABV x ability to down lots of it = rather drunk & obnoxious muzby)

however picked up a 6 pack of it tonight to entertain myself..

and yep.. tasty beer, but dear god it's a creeper..
Yeah, especially off tap, goes down so easily then bam, you get up from your set and the floor is inconveniantly moving around.

I'll be in NZ over christmas so I suspect I'll be drinking some monteiths

There's a chocolate porter in Arizona called 'sex panther'.

Not bad, a bit thin IMO for taste but given the climate a heavier beer simply wouldn't sell well.

7/10.

New boutique beer bar opened up in Armidale two weeks ago, so I swung by today to sample nice beers at Sydney prices.

Had the Two Birds Taco. Pretty decent wheat beer made with flaked corn, so it has a corn chip aftertaste. Pretty decent.

Also had the New England Brewery Frederick Brown Ale. It was a bit too hoppy for my liking, but that's my bad. I was in the mood for an easily drinkable summery beer, not something quite this strongly flavoured.

When are you next in Armidale, SGLC? We need to destroy The Welder's Dog and its staff of ginger bearded men.

Not until February my good man. But I will be there with bells on. Are Wednesday nights good for you?

The wonders of formerly ploughing a SA native! My ex put me onto it, it's a can conditioned ale, and it's ace. I know in the US there are a few craft beers in cans, but not in Oz as yet.

Speaking of the wonderful Dr Tim's, ordered a case for under $40 clams including delivery. Oh my yes.

one of the bars in melbourne sells it, and i always get it when i go there..

i've found myself preferring cans lately.. maybe it's the influx of 500ml european beer cans coming in at the moment..

dunno.. but i'm buying cans..

There is a shift towards more canned beer, Matilda Bay are now doing Fat Yak in cans for example. It should really be a more embraced packaging, it retains chill, doesn't allow light to affect the beer and it's lighter and cheaper than glass.

In related news my Dr Tim's arrives today :D

Fat Yak and Mountain Goat Summer are the only beers in a can I've tried worth drinking. Cans are inferior packaging
