I don't know about "star", he was ok. Just not as sh*t as he was at Brisbane but still light years off what he was at the Bulldogs. If the NRL wanted him to play they would have let him, but he's just another chronic f*ck up....so au revoir Benny.
He won't be there long enough to learn the language

He f**ked up

But other blokes have had jobs while suspended or away from the game.
They can suspend him from playing rugby league...but can they stop him working anywhere else?
What if he wanted to be a pro surfer for 3 months?
Rugby in France is hardly a rival code to the NRL in Sydney.
I can say I've never watched one second of French rugby on TV
I couldn't name 1 team.

The NRL have basically lost one of its most popular stars all because they couldn't get they're shit together.

Popular with who?

Most people have had enough of him years ago. He comes across as a spoiled brat, and the rumours and innuendo that came out when he left the bulldogs turned a lot of people against him.

He's not going to be missed by fans, sponsors or players.

Drug dealers, perhaps.. but not by anyone who matters..

Dragons could use him in 12 weeks
If they had him you'd be first in line to suck him off.

yes they are.

They even said they won't register him while he plays for 12 weeks in France.
Why?
He is still suspended from playing rugby league.

When Josh Reynolds gets suspended for 3 weeks this year for a spear tackle or something should he be allowed to go and do a 3 week stint for Toulon while he is suspended? Because that is exactly the same as what Barba tried to do. Haha we’d have guys getting suspended deliberately so they could go on a working holiday for a few weeks and make quadruple the money! How f**king stupid.

Why would the NRL let a contracted player go and play Rugby? Let alone a player whos just been suspended for coke. How is that good for the NRL in anyway? Its not its just bad headlines for us and potentially good headlines for RU.

And Carchy you genius by not registering him they aren't stopping him from working in france(or anywhere else), they are stopping him from working in the NRL.

So they are saying he can't work elsewhere while suspended.?

Yep.

The NRL's fault old mate snorted shit up his nose.....multiple times.

Good luck in your search for the lost chromosome.

Are you a card carrying member of the Epic Bender Crew? Are we ragging on your brah???? Lol

I have kids. You know what I do??
I go to work every day, earn a living and not run around like a 17 year old imbecile shoving shit up my nose and carrying on like a douchebag.

I don't do the shit Barba does because I know if I did, I'd lose my job and not be able to provide for my kids. Amazing isn't it????

Idiot.

You're not the brightest tool in the shed are you?

Alcohol is also a drug yet no one batted an eyelid when Terepo from Parramatta endangered people's lives by getting behind the wheel and driving a car while under the influence and puts people's lives in danger in the process yet no one bats an eyelid, Barba snorts cocaine while celebrating his team's premiership win endangering no one except himself and somehow people think it's worthy to pick up their flametorches and pitchforks and run him out of town.

That's the stupid part about it and the reason why the NRL is as inconsistent as all f**k.

They are saying a player contracted to the NRL can't sign a Rugby Union contract. We can dance around this forever you are just flat out wrong.

Haha
Only after they took forever to confirm a suspension time and start date ( which they never did get around to)

The France option only came about because the NRL didn't actually suspend him.
He signed a club contract weeks ago .
In the end he gave up waiting to see if the NRL would acknowledge it.

He was suspended for 12 matches, its an automatic suspension for a 2nd positive test as part of the NRL drug policy. So as soon as Cronulla and Barba were aware of the second test they knew how long the suspension was.

That's why I've been saying the NRL f**ked up here.

It's not Barba's fault the NRL didn't get off their fat arses and actually do something about the contract that Cronulla lodged with the NRL.

They do sweet f**k all and dither around about a suspension so he gave up and took the option to play French rugby.

However that suspension can only be served once a contract is registered by the NRL.

So if they register it prior to the start of the season, its 12 matches. If they register it after round 12 - its the most of the season.

Surely you understand the argument these lads are trying paint? That the NRL control how long the ban is by when they feel like registering his contract (with their own legitimate concerns mind you)

Me personally i don't care either way. I just can't stand to see this stupid f**king argument go round in circles.

Edit what he said.

Thought everyone loved a redemption story. I guess the love is lost when they win a premiership.

Why would they let any player contracted to the NRL sign with a competitor?

Well technically he wasn't. He signed a deal with the Sharks but the NRL never bothered to do about it so in effect his Sharks contract was null and void so he then took the Toulon offer to play rugby.
