That isn't consistent with the Pritchard hit from this year or last year.

Pete

In 2012 Pritchard tried a shoulder charge and got it wrong and made first contact with a players head, & was suspended.

Teo did the same and was also suspended.

As a NRL fan who wants more consistency from the judiciary I am pleased with the result.

Pritchard got a week.

Te'o got four.

Hardly consistent, especially when Pritchard would had got off if he didn't receive points last year from a shot that was identical to Te'os.

It was never an issue of guilty or not guilty. He made contact with the head. End of story.

The question is what grading it deserves. I think there is merit to lowering the grading but all that has been established is his guilt, which should have been a nonissue because the concussed bloke is proof of head contact.

Whilst I agree for the most part. Concussion is caused by the brain moving inside the skull, and this can be caused by a massive body shot.

FTR, I agree that Teo did make some contact with the head. Not worth a grade 3 though IMO.

I swear some of the people that have posted in the last 15 posts are some of the dumbest merkins alive.

But it isn' proof of guilt. Accidents happen in rugby league.

As for "dumbest merkins" that's ordinary.

Grading is obviously an issue, but the suspension isn't, That's the point I am trying to make.

Were carry over points an issue for Teo ?

I wouldn't have a problem if the NRL had of come out after the Pritchard incident and said they'd be taking a hard stance against shoulder charges. But they didn't and now one player is copping 4 weeks instead of the precedent set earlier.

I don't have a problem with the decision either Johnsy, as stated but the grading is obviously where I have a problem.

This is his first ever suspension.

Teo has a clean sheet before this.

It's worth a suspension, but not 3-4 weeks IMO

Was Pritchard's a shoulder charge?

Pritchard wasn't driving upwards in either of those tackles, and his feet never left the ground. Those are a couple of differences

He got him in the head in a situation where it could have been avoided. There's your guilt.

I support the grading being lowered so he misses 1 to 2 weeks, but in my mind there is no doubt about his guilt.

If you make dangerous contact with someones head in an avoidable situation (i.e. not when the ballrunner suddenly falls in the tackle into your arm) you are guilty. Whether or not you intended to hit his head is irrelevant.

By that logic no drink driver should be prosecuted. They cause accidents, they don't kill people on purpose. But the issue is they caused harm in an avoidable situation. Same as Teo.

Te'o's lawyer Peter Shields argued Te'o not once made contact with Groat's head.

FMD, I can't believe this pricks are paid & paid very well to lie.

well I am going to hang my head in front of an oncoming train , and when i am hit I'm going to whinge until the train gets 4 weeks

Can we please get that in writing?? I'll defend the train.

I can only assume that fantastic analogy was in reference to the Thurston boot to David Williams????

Take a look at this video and tell me that Williams moved his head into Thurston's boot which was moving like "a train on a track" presumably meaning it could not deviate to anywhere but where it ended up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci0ObCsLVsI

That was Thurston in the motion of kicking BEFORE Williams had his head there was it?????????:crazy::crazy:

F*cking idiot.

Oh, 4 weeks is way too much for the T'eo hit.

Not in the Simmons example, but the shot on Graham was identical to Te'os

In fact, he performed a similar shot on Ray Thompson that season...

Suspend Frank Pritchard!
