Club policy is he shouldn't be on before game day when we play Friday.

If it is anything but a pre-record drop the prick to play NSW Cup and cost him his 200th game.

Agree. If this is the club policy it should be enforced, we should no longer stoke the ego. I'm sick of hearing Benji about Benji.

Just let it go. He has been one of the best players the club has had. He was a major reason we won a premiership.

This is his last year. Let him go out how he wants.

It is about sticking by the clubs policy regardless of player profile.

Whatever the fellows decision it is made and his playing future isn't with us. However we have a toxic culture to rebuild

He wants to go out in 2017 earning a million a year.

I don't want him to go out that way.

So I'll take option B instead, he'll go out the way Wests Tigers wants him to.

Its 9 games and he has given us so much. I think some of you need to get some perspective. He is going and it is probably for the best. If he was reasonable in what he was asking for that would change things but he isn't being.

Let him leave on good terms. Going on the footy show isn't a big deal. There is no need to act like a petulant child and that is how a lot of the talk on here comes across.

Exactly.

These last rounds of 2013 are about establishing a pattern of accountability and consequence

If it is club policy, its applicable for everyone. If he gets official permission fine, but allowing Benji to run his own race has allowed this situation to develop in the first place. Either Benji gets permission to go on the show, or if he doesn't, and he does go on the show and it is against club policy, Benji has to be punished.

Benji gets treated the same way he treats the club.

People cut him a lot of slack for a very long time because he was always true to the club.

As soon as he decided he was entitled to massive dollars and showed no care in the teams future and tried to squire extra money undeservedly out of the club, well of course people are going to change their attitude towards him.

Money is a true revealer of people.

Everyone knows that Farah is a Liverpool FC fan. What if the game in Melbourne next week was on game day? Would you be happy for Robbie to say, I need the day off to go to a game?

Spot on.

Benji's exposure on the Footy Show only benefits the Tigers and so has his profile. It has also kept him at WT over the years as his branding goes hand in hand with WT.

Star players are always allowed to top up salaries with media commitments. The real question is should he still play? He has asked for a release and we have a youngster in Brooks that could benefit from the exposure to FG. I would assume they could expect an exemption from Schubert regarding the cap.

''I'm not a money-hungry, disloyal person with no integrity. If anything, I feel I'm the opposite.
''Until you know what sort of person I am, and know the story behind what's gone on, say what you like. But if it was about money, I would have left five years ago to go to Japan, when David Gallop stopped me.
''I wouldn't have taken pay-cuts all those years to help the club be under the cap.
''If it's about money, why would I do all those things? If it's about loyalty, why wouldn't have I have left five years ago, when I had offers from other clubs? Why wouldn't I have done that? Why wouldn't I just go now and play for another NRL club? Why wouldn't I just do that?
''Because that's not me, that's not the sort of person I am. It's more than that. I love the club. Out of respect for the fans of the club, the club, and my teammates, I won't play against them. And that's final. That's it. There's no other [NRL] club I want to play for. At the end of this year, my NRL days are over.''

he talks about being loyal and then reveals that he had to be stopped from going to Japanese Rugby 5 years ago by Gallop.

He talks about taking pay cuts, but refused a pay increase he asked for?

Benji sprouted shit to the media. can see right through it.

Time to put Benji to bed and let him fade away into the sunset and in the blink of a eye their will be another kid who will fill that void. Its being going on since 1908. Their is so much spin attached to Benji he dosnt know where he is. Its probably not fair to draw comparisons but from day one their was never a pr machine directing Farah and he will finish the game a legend, yet from day one Benji has been a puppet for the PR machine and he is going to leave the NRL with a lot of people not only doubting his football ability but doubting Benji as a person.

The trouble with this whole Benji saga is what ever truth Benji has said has been lost in all the spin and bull sh.. from his PR people. Anyway as the old saying goes, live by the sword die by the sword
