All those kicks should have been taken on the full and any NRL fullback would have. Basically all NRL fullbacks would have brought the ball back themselves after it too, besides one.
Also, I don't understand Franklin's insistence Moylan will be a turnstile when defending in the line. It may turn out to be true, but he was absolutely fine in this respect in his one and only high profile game in that position. And given franklin is happy enough to throw Edwards out on the back of a single game, I'm surprised he doesn't hold the same standard for Moylan at 6.

His defence would be fine he defends in our line often enough to see that. Franklin is clutching at straws.
And by fine I mean he wouldn't be the worst defensive half in the game not that he would be a good defender.
All those bad defenders have a good defender next to them. He'd have Cartwright next to him and at sometimes Latu the other. Hardly good defenders
Personally I think he would make a better defender than a lot of halves, guys like JT and Maloney anyway but if you think he needs a gun defender as a bodyguard switch him with Cleary and put him next to Yeo, problem solved.
Moylan actually defends in the line quite often on first and second tackle after kicks(usually if our defence is going backwards he will rush up and try to make the play) and makes plenty of one on one tackles, he hit one of the warriors players with a great tackle in the second half.
As I said at the time, if you are relying on an 80kg fullback/half to stop a 115kg+ forward like Gavin Cooper on the line, you've got serious problems. Others were beaten or out of position leaving Moylan exposed. It was mentioned somewhere here that Moylan let in a try in origin but so did Cronk in the same game under the exact same circumstances(Jennings try)

Hi. First time I've posted but I've been reading the forum for a year (had to email admit due to sign up issue). Nice to meet everyone. Just want to say this comment is spot on.

Welcome, nice to have you on board. I can already tell you will be a great addition to the forum!
As you and Frog have mentioned there aren't many halves who are going to stop a big rangy guy like cooper that close to the line one on one. In regards to the cronk miss, while he did miss the Jennings tackle he had just run down Tedesco from nowhere the tackle before so he did well to even be in position to miss the tackle on Jennings.
I think it was game 3 wasn't it? He was the five-eighth. He was never going to stop Cooper one on one close to the line and the mere fact he was asked to means someone else failed to do their job. A bit like expecting Gallen or Klemmer to throw long cut-out balls to put Ferguson into gaps and set up the winning try.But but but he's the fullback
Thanks mate. Seems like a good place/people to talk about the club with.
