North Sydney in the 90's
A backline of
Seers
Dallas
Beutner
Ikin
Roy #-o
Florimo
Taylor

One of the best back rows around of
13. Moore
12. Larson
11. Fairleigh

And Soden at hooker, plus players like Leyshon and Morrison in the latter years was a pretty bloody awesome, and they managed to play brilliantly at club level throughout the season and then went n bloody choked in not 1 but 4 preliminary finals as well as the 98 semi's.

Tell me you wrote this with a straight face!

I would have to say that the Roosters teams over the 5 years from 2000 to 2004 would have to be the best teams to never win a real premiership.

Well, they have the chance to put the record straight ths sunday.

AND THE WILL ;-) ;-)

I guess I'll have to stick with my pre-GF suggestion now.

93 Raiders would have gone all the way had Stuart not gone down with an untimely broken leg #-o

Bears in 94. Larson shouldnt have been sent off and Norths would have beaten Canberra to be in the grandfinal, then beat Canterbury to be premiers.

Funy cos Ikin and Beutner were excellent players at that stage, Florimo is a legend, Seers and Dallas were bloody quick and Roy has always been shithouse. And that backrow was bloody awesome.

Roy was great. He played more than 100 games for the Bears. There were much worse than him.

Larson deserved to go for his spear tackle on David Furner
And
Lomax deserved to go for his high tackle on Billy Moore.
Back then Refs were not SCARED to send people off for foul play. McCallum sent 2 players off in a PRELIM SEMI!! Full credit to the man for having the balls to make the decisions.

and larsons spear was just as bad

i cant believe Larson didnt get any weeks for his spear on Furner! If that happened today he would have got 4-5-6 weeks. Times have changed as they say.

Balmain in the late 80's and Norths of the 90's. These teams were consistently good each year but failed to win the big one.

He got an exoneration after the match, so the NSWRL obviously thought differently ;-) ( The old Curse Kicking in  ) . They looked all set before that. When Larson got sent off, Bears players started dropping like flies. at one stage they could only get 10 players on the field!

they had a different replacement rule back then and David Hall had to play the last 10 min or so with a broken collar bone or something serious.
The bears had used up all their replacements and he had to stay out on the field

I remember David Hall he was Adolf Hitlers love child.
he had a shocking porno star moustache and was not the best of wingers. Good/solid/dependable, but thats it.
He can thank superleague he played his one and only origin game 3 1995.

souths picked him up for the 1999 season for allegedly 200k a yr!!!! He didnt last long as his career ended with a serious leg injury
