At least they aren't made in china. Chinese made stuff is usually dodgy quality.

I need a new polo, but are they cotton? I have the darker blue of 2007 and its hot to wear it. Im guessing too much polyester.
Both are polyester again this year
dont wear it near the panda cage at the zoo thenInterestingly the 2010 Media Polo is 66% Polyester and 34% Bamboo.
Nearly 80% of the stuff i stock is made in China and the quality is pretty good, a lot of the time it depends on the design and materials used not where it is made. That has been the belief for a number of years about every product out of China. Recently, however, the quality of the majority of goods out of China has improved greatly. Expect the prices of goods out of China to increase as their economy continues to outperform the rest of the world also.
bamboo is the way of the future cos it grows damn fast!

If you buy cheap stuff made anywhere it is going to be dodgy. You buy a set top box for $50 it won't work as good or for a long as a $200 one.
Same goes for clothing etc.
totally agree, stuff from india is total crap, the wages there are now less than china.I research/buy a lot of machinery for the business. Traditionally, the quality stuff for my industry has been produced in Italy. 10 years ago, for example I wouldn't have touched a Chinese made machine, due mainly to longevity. Recently, things have improved greatly. So much so that I am about to sign off on the purchase of a machine sourced thru China totalling A$1.25 million.
I certainly couldn't justify spending that much on the Chinese gear unless it was atleast competive with gear produced elsewhere in the world. Due to the "charging" Chinese economy, prices for goods out of China will continue to increase. They can no longer afford to sell just on price. Their goods must be comparative in standard to those produced elsewhere.
India is becoming the new China as far as I have discovered, in that a lot of the stuff coming out of India is utter crap. Different products and different industries will give differing results/quality however.
It's got nothing to do with the Chinese. It's the owners of the companies.
It's the Chinese, the company should be responsible for the Q&A. I like japanese products as they tend to have a high standard of Q&A even if the product is made in China
Bamboo cotton is the way of the future, the fibre is much softer than normal cotton.Interestingly the 2010 Media Polo is 66% Polyester and 34% Bamboo.
Not true sorry, I work in QA for an Aust Retailer, the Aust company is responsible for the quality/safety of the merchandise. You see samples, you commit to the order, you are then responsible for what you bring in. The only comeback the retailer has is if the order doesn't match the quality of the sample you approved. It's got nothing to do with the Chinese. It's the owners of the companies.

It has nothing to do with the owners of the companies. Their job is to make as much money as possible. If their best yeild or return is thru selling cheap crap then that is what they will do.
Govt and industry set the minimum standards for Q and A. The ANZS covers Aus and NZ whilst CE covers Europe etc.
