BGA Store "Soft Opening"

it definitely states
• $20 voucher for the BGA HQ (formerly Parra Footy Heaven)
• Discounted merchandise at BGA HQ

what sort of discount is not mentioned though

Yeah there will be sales that are members only, and you will get the sale price as far as I understand it.

I asked this question a while ago when the Membership books came out.

hmmmmm ... I had assumed that still meant there was a % discount ..... pretty misleading tbh! .... and yeah - that means Wynnies gets more business cos I'm sorry to say I wouldn't pay a fair amount more just to buy at the footy club store

re: the 60% cotton/40% polyester ... well thats better ... but still alot of bloody plastic!

I just think that now they look like T-Shirts and cheapens it. I prefer the old collar and cotton material look. Like Oxford university type stuff.

This is a general point Strider so dont think I'm making this at you.

We ALL (including me) whinge about the prices being too high and that the shop inside the Leagues Club is too small and not enough things, etc.

The Club now has the chance to not only sell more merchandise but also have a lot more exclusivity that other retailers dont have plus the profits stay in the club.

Isn't the whole idea of all this is for the club to make a profit???

If the jersey at Wynn's is $160, how are u going to get a discount?

Since the election back in April/May, we all have got on here complaining about the stupid store in the Leagues Club and that we need to open a bigger shop and increase revenue through more merchandise and making the club money, etc.

Now all of a sudden we are not happy??? Things are starting to happen and not like the old days where nothing was done.

The shop isn't trading fully yet.

Jodeci, we are paying members who have already invested money in membership.

I'm going in there and spending my vouchers but unless they can be competitive with other retailers specials etc, I'm not going to feel obliged to spend my hard earned cash there just because the club pulled their finger out and built a store.

That's a good point. Many people have already invested their hard earned on season tickets and memberships.
Unless the merchandise store can be competitive with other retail outlets, I think we'll find that better bargains can be found elsewhere.
I certainly think that this is an issue that needs to be taken up with the NRL. Surely some of this stuff shouldn't be in the $150 - $200 price bracket. Surely production costs are FARRRR less than this, and greed has got the better of the the NRL, as it has with most other sports.

Let's get the jump on the new western Sydney AFL bunch of wankers and undercut their merchandise before they even get a chance.

They would be stupid to put the prices higher in the shop then at Rebel or Peter Wynn's.

MITS, is the price of the polo you bought higher then Rebel, etc?

Like I mentioned, the shop will have items that you cant buy elsewhere...

Yes, I think merchandise (whether it be NRL, cricket, whatever) is generally over priced for what you are getting. Supporter gear is great advertising for sporting clubs and sponsors, and you're expected to pay through the roof to become a walking billboard for a club you support.

I think it's probably been 3 years since I bought any type of 'supporter' gear. And then, I'll go to where I get the best value. Whether it be price or quality (and I HATE polyester FFS). Especially if I'm being asked to blow 80 bucks on a polo......

I'm more than happy to support the club each and every year by buying my season ticket and popping into the leagues club for a feed here and there.

NRL puts the logos on anything nowadays, Dummies for kids, Gnomes, Gas Cylinder covers, Face Washers, rattles.
