Big Day Out 2011

The Red Hot Chili Peppers would be more than enough to make me buy a ticket, even without John Frusciante.

Sceptical on how good they'd be with out Fruciante, when he stepped out last time and they replaced him with Nevarro ( a brilliant guitarist none the less) they just weren't quite on the money IMO. As soon as he rejoined they come good.coincidence I think not

It wouldn't be the same without Frusciante, not even close. It wouldn't stop me from going to BDO either though, if they are there.

I really, really doubt they will be, lol.

I was extremely disappointed when I heard he was leaving, but the guy they've got to step in is a good friend and somewhat a protege of John's so hopefully he'll be adequate.

It won't be the same, but who knows (as much as I love the guy) perhaps this new guitarist will be even better than John, in the same way that he stepped in and flourished after the death of Hillel.

Better than Lord Frusciante? Impossible

I know what you're saying. It will be different. Whether it will be a good or bad kind of different, we'll just have to wait and see.

Anyway... I'd pay a lot to see them even without him there... my favourite band and always will be.

Tool again? Seriously???

Looks like tickets are going to go quick, and I'll be leaving early again.

Getting tired of the yearly Blink rumour, especially since I keep falling for it

No Soundgarden, No STP. Meh not interested. These line ups seem to be getting worse.... maybe I'm just getting old:(

It is pretty light on. Organisers don't really care - it will sell out and they'll make their fortune like they do every year.

This is what happens when there are too many music festivals people.

The only thing getting old is the headline acts, the 3 lead singers are practically senior citizens FFS.

I normally go to BDO every year because even in thinnest of years there has always been 3-4 bands that I'd like to see, but 2011 is testing me.

Of the acts named the only ones I'd like to watch are Birds of Tokyo. The rest of the acts I could watch are more for fun drunk value (Pnau, Wolfmother, Operator Please).

I cannot stand metal, so looks like I'll be checking out of the main arena a few hours early with the last acts bound to be Deftons, Iggy, Rammstein then Tool.

Perhaps we'll just obtain some party favours and hit up the boiler room this year :sarcasm:

Yeah but this year the band said they wanted to tour at that time of the year and twitter had them as coming.

I myself wasn't that confident Travis still is scared of flying still so it would be difficult to come and move between the cities not to mention coming halfway around the world.

As for the lineup it's decent but prob not worth the hassel to fight for the tickets. I will just attend a couple of sideshows. If someone really good gets announced in the 2nd round. I will head interstate if needed to get tickets

Headliners don't do anything for me. It's 2010, not 1999.

I'd love to go see Dead Letter Circus and Lupe Fiasco, but it's not worth the effort just to see them.

Hopefully Tool will play a sideshow in Brisbane this time around..

I won't bother with the BDO to see them.
