Big News - 6 about to be dropped

Wow this is a new low. I can't help thinking if all those other Lemons hadn't been sacked in the last few years, then McFadden would be getting the sack, however he seems to have genuine backing from JD and EW, who are trying a new approach to get on an even keel. But this is going to be civil war in the team now with some of the best players dropped (Hurrel not incl with best), the other best players injured, a season with so much promise is in tatters.
I haven't read anyone noting that the kick off in Melbourne the night before was at 11pm NZ time, so they would have been playing/debriefing/ travelling etc till at least 3am NZ time so it doesn't really seem that bad to stay out that late the next night, the one that's furthest from your next game.

If there's any hint of the players on Sunday not making a decent effort in 'solidarity' for 'Manu and the boys' then that'll be our lowest ever point as a club. Surely this won't happen.

latest reports are they were not drinking alcohol but energy drinks and were very quiet just minding their own buisness. they were late for the meeting and the medias blown it through the roof. ill try and go find the article

Interesting - the media loves to publish hysterical end of the world type stories at the moment

However, the on field performances have been a joke (despite the media talking them up after wins over poor teams and a decent win over the Dogs who have been pretty mediocre), we've lost RTS and Mannering to injury and the coach drops 6 players for disciplinary reasons, and Hurrell's retweet of the coach evaluation post - I'm happy to join the dots on that

I read that Koni and Albert weren't drinking but the others were probably really a nothing event on most other days but just really bad timing after that hiding in Melbourne. At times like that the public demands some sort of penance.

The public didn't demand this though, this came from the Warriors...

Looks to me like an unhappy group - whether it's coaching/structural incompetence or player power/egos isn't clear - most likely both - neither have achieved shit tbh

Long, long, LONG bow to blame the media. And trust me, I'm happy to blame them any time.

TV1 reported Ben and Manu were training with the NSW Cup side. Good reporting and factual news. Then on the back of 5 players being dropped, plus the other bum, the media reported that. Again, fact. They missed a meeting, that's club protocol. I would also suggest that sleep patterns are vital to the on-field success of our team. So being out at 2am whatever, drinking or not, is compromising performance.

So the club and the players themselves created this. The media merely reported it which is their job to inform you and I. I have read nothing hysterical, and I read and watch a lot. The public have responded as well, and that's our right to be mad.

I tell you what, so many people have performed poorly in this whole thing.

Konrad, can f**k off right now. Leopard doesn't change its spots even if it does shed some kgs in the off-season. Honestly, don't play NSW Cup on the weekend, don't let him near our players. Tell him to f**k off. That deadshit tweeting and all this other rubbish he brings to the table. Let him be someone else's problem.

Manu, I'm happy to see the back of him now as well. He's starting to become a cancer too. The movie BS, the concert last year, this...he's just not offering anything. I know it will be a bloody hard PR move but he's better off going elsewhere. All sides have to move players on at the right time, it's his now.

Doyle, I've been a vocal fan of his but he spoke very poorly on radio yesterday IMO, real lame management 'tick the boxes, that's an internal issue' sort of crap. I thought he was better than that. We have put up with crap for too long, we deserve to be in the know. He needs to start acting strongly, and that includes on the coach.

Speaking of the coach, he's actually the only one who has come out of this with any integrity, funnily enough. I still know he's not the right guy to get us to the eight and beyond but the strong stance he's taken, the way he has communicated not only on this but the Issac Luke stuff etc, he is a strong voice. So fair play to him. I hate it that it's probably bought him more time, however.

Odd, so if true they didn't require one of them as a sober driver as previously claimed then.

Listening to McFadden on the radio, it's very obvious that he doesn't like Hurrell. With the weight of public opinion against him, I can't see Hurrell lasting long now...he's the new Kevin Locke.

Interesting interview, doesn't bode well for Hurrell.... Otherwise my respect for McFadden grows, he might not be the coach we need, but I won't fault his attitude

Cappy speaks well and comes out looking better from this.
Luke on the bench this week.
Koni sounds to be gone very soon after his management is spoken too.
I think Manu will survive (I don't think he should) based on his status at the club.

I agree, I respect McFadden for what he's done with this whole thing.

It doesn't change the fact he can't coach his way out of a paper bag. Great attitude, speaks well, strong will by the looks. Maybe he'll be a better coach in 5-10 years.

He's still not for us.

Yeah. McFadden is a rubbish coach - but showing some leadership and character

Hurrell has to go, pretty simply - he's a dick, plain and simple

Agree on everything bar Manu. I have no major issues with him yet apart from this. The movie thing was a minor indescretion and the concert thing was a non issue for Manu, it was Koni's prescience that was the problem there.

Why should we care about getting the best out of the players that are capable of this level of selfishness.

Some of these blokes will earn ten Grand this weekend for what ?

It is not the clubs responsibility to control the behavior of its employees... . that is personal responsibility.

You either respect a ten K weekly income or that earning potential....or you choose to ignore that the company you work for is in crisis.....losing support by multiples of tens of thousands....and thumb your nose at all you have been priveledged to receive.

These blokes did us a huge favor....they exposed why the Warriors don't turn up.

They don't turn up to their own crisis meetings.

This crap is not Cappy's or Jim's fault....Jim is the best at what he does in rugby league.....the players are the best at what they do....take the piss.

Really though, if they went out till 3am, drank energy drinks, were well-behaved and turned up on time to work, is there a problem here?

Let's not blow this too far out of proportion

Here's your problem.

How many of them were late?

I'm not sure all 6 should have been dropped if they went out late, behaved, didn't drink and turned up. From what I heard, some didn't turn up on time and others did?
