I don't understand the problem? He is a sponsor with a legitimate business that he is advertising!

If he is ever convicted of something, then we re-think the sponsorship......until then, who cares?

the telecrap can take the high ground as they refuse to accept advertising from the sex industry and illegal brothels. Just go to the classifieds and you will see................yeah right.

I must say, it's not a good look, but simply banning a guy because he's a bikie is a bit simplistic. I'm sure there would be quite a few businesses that sponsor clubs that have had shady incidents involving owners and staff. If he's done time or there is evidence that he has, or will soon be charged then that's another matter, but this does seem a bit tenuous.

What about that gang of morons from Maroubra, they are allowed to play NRL, which is a bit closer than sponsorship.

It's great that Mr Jouayde is getting a few posts of support and I have no reason to doubt my fellow forum members that he's a great guy.

The bottom line for me is that it's all about protecting your brand. It takes years of hard work to build up the market value of your product and a moment of poor judgement to drag it down. As a business man, I'm sure that Mr Jouayde could see my point of view.

Peace, out.

I am with you on this one Gronk - in the middle of an unprecedented membership drive, where does this leave our name/brand potentially - i wonder if Mr Jouayde is one of the sponsors that was waiting to come on board as soon as the emperor left..

theres a lot of what ifs and maybe's in this thread i think ozzie should bring him in for a chat and remind him that sponsorship is a two way street and at the first sign of trouble he will be punted but if he has committed no crime and if he does nothing to bring the club into disrepute then why is he not allowed to be a sponsor the same as anybody else? the only difference between jail and the media is when you get out of jail you are free when the media convicts you its a life sentence

Maybe next years club sponsor will be, 'Methamphetamine's 'R Us'.

Harsh. I think Oz & the Board have done a good job since they've taken over. This is only a small problem which can be dealt with easily.

The guy is a president of a club that google will tell you have Australia wide a "colourful" history. You can't ignore that fact.
