yea but you know what i mean mate?

its all drunken fun til there are different people that join in with us and get us in trouble and into fights. If we can keep it a good bunch of guys and girls, and tell the f***wits where to go, i'd be alot happier

As most of you are well aware I'm a "Ken Thornett grandstand" snob [and big good morning to Fisheel ;-) ] however, I am willing to join the group under 3 very strict conditions.

1] I want ParraMatt and Colnel to come to the party and combine both groups and make it a super army, I'm happy for both of them to lead the group with the Colnel to negotiate a special season ticket price for the Army, with the club.

2] We need to have an Army code of conduct, strictly eliminating bitch fights and factions, I know for a fact there were some incidents this year involving a couple of people, they know who they are and fighting amonst ourselves under any circumstances should not be tollerated by the majority.

3] Parramatta Eels are a club!! not just an NRL team, therefore we should be supporting all three teams, as well as take an interest in Harold Mathews and SG Ball. ie: turn up to some matches and definetly their finals.

I would be interested to know what people think of that, but you have my word if the above is agreed on I'm there!!!!

No No No No.

My intention is a large group, Drinking beer, Standing, And singing for the full 80 minutes.

This is exactly what we and the club want mate. While I like doing it I'd rather not have to chase people for two hours outside the ground.

What I'd like to do is have access for the season ticket holders to get involved and for those that want to come part time to be able to get in as well in the same area. By working with the club we can do it easier....

I think you may have missed the point Matt.

· Free Tickets – not a bad idea but maybe if we can offer a discounted ticket for the season along with an individual membership card etc. Lose the wigs but the t-shirts are a great idea – maybe scarves can be used instead similar to the English Premier League (Soccer). Tickets to away games or discounted travel would be of benefit to get people involved not just at home games.

· Long term we could run it similar to the Parramatta Power supporter group that was in Bay 41 and call it the “Bay 57 3RD Group Parramaniacs” If people want to get involved but can’t afford the season ticket we can also offer game day tickets in the same area.

· Centralised seating – it would be great if we can have the same rows every week. Dependant on numbers if we can use four or five rows of a particular bay instead of being a bit scattered it would make us stand out a lot more.

· Large Flags – Similar to how they allow large flags in particular areas at Telstra Stadium it would be good if we were allowed a certain area – maybe the three back rows to get them up. This would also allow those fans that want to stand up and sing a place to do so without interfering with the other supporters.

This was what Jase and I have already sent to the Eels Office. The club wants the season ticket holders involved. Getting people in off the street on gameday didn't exactly work but it still kept the Parramaniacs in the limelight so we could work from something for 2005. Not to say that kids and families aren't good supporters but they think I'm stupid (you al know I am so it doesn't matter) and don't get involved.

Matt - what you want is what we want! ;-)

I can not be a regular part of this at home games but would love to join in at away games.

I would however like to make the following comments.

Be welcoming to everyone guys, be a single huge army that is welcoming to everyone, if CE can get a section that people can sit in without issues like reserved seating, encourage people to join in, don't exclude them or pick on or pick fights or the like. A group like this (as the Parraletics showed) is strong because while acting insane, they were including people in their fun.

I would hope the same atmosphere happened at away games as well. I have more often been turned off because people aren’t actively invited to join in and have a good time. Go up to people, say hi, and ask if they want to join in. Troop the Colours at away games, make sure people know where to come to at away games. Active Recruitment and a welcoming atmosphere are major partners in getting a strong supporters group going.

I hope it works out, I know something like this was a Dream of Dimmy’s, to get it back to something like the Parraletics once were.

Further to that you are more than welcome to use the parraletic.net song sheet found here.

Start getting numbers Matt and Colonel.
You need a formal listing of names and details of everyone who is interested.

Then you need to confirm from that list how many are willing to part with their $$ for a season ticket.

The more numbers you get the more the club will support this movement.
This is the right time to get this moving. The season ticket holder process through the club starts next week!!

It sounds to me like everyone has a different idea of what the Parra Army( for want of a better name) should look like, sound like ,and act like. This is probably because there are many different sorts of Parramamtta supporters.I wonder if that makes it difficult to have just one group of supporters but rather we may need a few different groups -maybe at different spots around the stadium .I had a look at the chants on your site Mark and I wonder if some of the younger supporters would /should be chanting them  ,but I appreciate the intention
I wonder if Colonel or Planet -or anyone else for that matter could tell us how the Burrow or St George Army came to be and how they maintain their support?

I think we are all on a similar wavelength SC, it just took a little time to get there.

Smaller groups don't work. It becomes too disjointed and lacks impact - you only have to look at the Burrow and how successful they are.

SC, when I read through the chants, I can only see one or two chants in the top 20 that might be inappropriate and the Ass one(counted above) is nothing I think they wouldn’t have heard any rate. But it is up to the chant leaders (the people that start the chants) to run the squad depending on the environment it is in.

But on the Other point, yes there are different forms of what People think and Army should be, I remember, Planet, Suity, Jesus , Madam and myself all sat down one weekend at the Oak to try and figure out the Basics, I would not be object to another meeting of such a group of people to get ideas on the table. I remember the Burrow saying that the got organised, started an organisation with a charter to support their club, and the like. Maybe this could be the first meeting of such.

I also remember we were thinking about that when we tried to get an Off Season Social club going, and again maybe that is something we can look into, but not on the night it use to be, as Thursday night at the Oak is now topless and lingerie waitress nights and I don't think that will be appropriate.

Easiest thing is for those that want to get involved - my place, Sunday afternoon - say 2pm before the Football. We need to get started on this as soon as we can and we can sit down and nut some things out that need to happen. Its a short walk to the Leagues Club for those that want to head there afterwards.

the get together sounds good Mark,do you think that it should be a wider group of people though? It's hard to form one group of such diverse people but good luck with that.
The idea of such a group is great though and it would also be great if people could just jion in and not feeel an outsider if they couldnt get to all the games

again!

I would like to reiterate that I'd love to get involved under the 3 reasonable conditions placed so by assuming that this would be the case, I would be more than happy to attend the meeting.

if thats ok?

SC,
Anyone who has something to say will be welcome at the table, I was mearly pointing out a previous meeting, held when some friends were still with us, we took the heads of all the factions plus anyone that wanted a say, sat down and started to nut some things out.

Colonel, I wouldn't mind attending the meeting

My wife is away on Sunday for three days. I have a huge balcony and I get lonely very easily :D Its no worries. Thought it was better than the pub - bit quieter - access to internet etc.

Speaking for myself and I hope others, I am sure that whoever wants to get involved will no matter how many games they can make and they will be welcome no matter what. The added bonus of having an area specifically for the Army is that we can talk to the club about having extra seats set aside every week for those who can only make certain games.

ok!

Mate if your sweet with that, you may want to start a new thread and have people RSVP to the meeting, just to get an idea of how many your up against, if the response is overwhelming you may need to make it the pub!! #-o
