lafranchi was charged, went to trial and found not guilty.

And continued playing throughout the year. I dont understand why everyone is going crazy over this but not the others. Probably because he was drunk at the time, or that he is more high profile (at the time of incident for both) because other than that it seems very hypocritical for so many people to demand he stand down.

I reckon it would be making soggy sao's.

And you called yourself an adult a page or two ago. That joke may have got a cheap laugh if you told it to a group of 10 year olds.

If you're an adult, judging from that dribble earlier about karma and that lame joke, you are one sad, sad gimp.

Gtfo out of my thread.

how about because we would be the same people that suggested laffranchi be stood down as well? nothing hypocritical about it if your view point on both cases is the same. i think anyone believing he should be stood down, at least until the trial, is interested in setting a precedent and protecting the image of our game.

I'm bringing my kids up to love rugby league and i do not want them hearing about players doing stuff like this. seriously, what does that say to kids? or women in general for that matter. My wife is a recent convert to the game and this is exactly the sort of thing that will turn her off it.

i sympathise with you on this. the girls and I at Errol have very actively being trying to get more women into league and defending it publicly etc etc....and now this happens and it just breaks my heart.

Tommax i think it's because Lafranchi isn't a big name, or at least he wasn't when he was charged. if i remember correctly the incident with him took place after a night out in Kings Cross so he was probably drunk too.

I couldn't care less about Brett Stewart. I feel for the girl if what has been claimed turns to be true.

But more than anything I feel for the game. This was a season of such great promise which has been ruined before a ball has been kicked. Season 2009 will be remembered for one thing now, I fear. Sometimes I wonder if rugby league will ever be about what happens on the field.

I can see your point mate, but league has gone through this before, the problem is we continually get reminded of some of the f*ck ups that have gone on.

I feel unpatriotic that I talk about this more, than firing up against you Rabbits for the derby.

I'm sick of hearing about it, yet I still feel like I want to know what the f*ck happened..

Peter Peters should definitely be sacked now.

If Garry Hughes had to go then so should Zorba.

Just didn't do his job.
