I think its BS, he has already signed with us for next year, and I think we would have heard something about it previously if it were true. I mean seriously the media is all over basically every player signing not to mention coach signings ages before it is done so I can't see Smith randomly getting out of his contract with us that he signed about 2 months ago and going to the Roosters, why would he want to go there anyway? They are a club that is majorly in the Sh*t at the moment.

No he wasn't. According to ABC Radio, Brian was off contract this year. There was a clause in his contract that if the Knights made the top 4 he would get an automatic extension, but the Knights had not signed Smith beyond this year.

This is a disgrace. i thought he was signed up for next year. He has done wonders with our club from 3 years ago. This year they have performed better than i ever expected and its all thanks to the processes and plans that BRIAN SMITH has put in place. He might not be the most liked coach in the competition ("according to the polls") but he knows how to get the job done. We have gone from a one man team to one of the teams to beat.

Knights management if this is true hang your heads in shame.

Smith is contracted to the Knights until the end of the 2010 season.

The Top 4 clause was put in place that if the Knights finished top 4 this season, he would automatically get a renewal until the end of 2011.

The Knights have let Smith out of his contract, or Smith has broken it.

There's numerous reports around about his re-signing earlier this year ( just Google it, there's sh*tloads), so any of the reports now saying he wasn't signed for 2010 is way off the mark.
