Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

So? Foxtel would certainly know how many people are watching in each city, and they pay more for the sport that covers all of the cities. That would suggest that those cities therefore do in fact hold value.

So why did News Ltd shut down the Perth Reds and Adelaide Rams in 1997 and 1998?

They have all of this data, right?

If there was huge demand for NRL in Adelaide and Perth then News Ltd would be pressuring the ARLC into putting teams there, would they not?

15 of 17 clubs in rugby league heartlands, time for the game to grow up and spread its wings.
Translation: Perth Red wants a team in Perth because he's a selfish hypocrite. You'll never see him telling the RFL to do any of this. He's happy for a shitbox city full of toothless derelict who cannot afford a toothbrush, like Hull, to have two tiny clubs that draw shit attendances.

Seemingly hasn’t hurt their bottom line though

Where's the NRL going to get the money to cover expansion into Adelaide and Perth?

You're looking at an extra $40m per annum to cover the grant.

Can you honestly say the broadcasters will provide an extra $40m per annum for two teams that won't rate on TV?

To be fair and not to side with the others but those clubs were already in the competition.

Doesn’t necessarily disprove your point but it doesn’t prove your point with relation to the last deal either.
Wb’s been arguing tassie was part of the tv negotiations lol. Fact is they landed a record deal $200mill more than us with 4 expansion clubs and one more coming in.

Hopefully it has given the nrl the rocket it needed to get moving on getting to 20 clubs with new market growth.

I wants teams in perth,Adelaide and nz. PNG if must.
As long as we dont end up with more clubs in qlnd and nsw it’ll be great news for expansionists.

They’ve just paid afl $200mill more for a comp featuring 4 clubs plus one more to come that you reckon dont rate. It’s almost like you dont really know what you’re talking about lol

I hear streaming was huge in 1997 and 1998.

Despite me telling him for months there was nothing to say they had abandoned the name he was convinced lol.
He’s now all shtty that they aren’t going to be called the logan jets.
his 180 degree dummy spit suggests we should pretty much ignore anything he has to say about brisbane 3 lol

What would your NRL team be called?

As the West Tigers already hold an NRL and NRLW licence, we are not looking to become the second ‘Tigers’ team in National Rugby League competitions.

We are not yet at the stage where our bid has considered the name of our potential NRL and NRLW team.
