It's not rocket science to know that if a Queensland team isn't the 18th NRL club it will be the 19th, but which one is the question
Highly doubtful, maybe 20 or 21 in a decade or so, no way broncos are letting another club in knicking their stars, they’ve lost 2 and potentially a third to dolphins in just 2 seasons!

News ltd don’t want a Perth team if you’re going down that track
I’d say news ltd are apathetic about perth I doubt they will champion them or block them.
Brisbane3 won’t be allowed in, the rest of the options aren’t massively influencing to tv imo, tv $ upgrade will be on more content and competition. This frees nrl up to do what it wants.

It’s looking more and more like png 18, perth 19, 20 up for grabs. IF the nrl has a 20 team strategy.

Despite me telling him for months there was nothing to say they had abandoned the name he was convinced lol.
He’s now all shtty that they aren’t going to be called the logan jets.
his 180 degree dummy spit suggests we should pretty much ignore anything he has to say about brisbane 3 lol

Trollity

To be fair Perth red is right

broncos are going to block easts as much as they can

it’s time for vlandys to do what’s best for rugby league

the market is big enough for 3 brisbane teams especially with one being based in the western coridoor

News Ltd could stand in the way between Brisbane Tigers getting an NRL licence. The extra business they've generated from the Dolphins might change their stance. If a third team helps them sell more copies of The Courier Mail and increases Foxtel/Kayo subscriptions then they'll have good reason to rubber stamp it.

V'landys introduced the Dolphins, despite protest from the Titans. He's pushing through with the PNG bid, despite protest from the Cowboys.

Do you consider Sydney and brisbane valuable to the afl rights?
You're comparing apples and oranges.

Metro averages for AwFuL in Brisbane and Sydney are 30k and 22k.

Metro averages for NRL in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth are 7k, 12k and 8k.

Combined, AwFuL is generating 52k viewers in Brisbane and Sydney versus 27k for NRL in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.

Let that sink in.

Exactly , we don’t know the numbers or what growth fox may think is possible In Perth or Adelaide.

How come Foxtel haven't pressured V'landys into adding teams from Adelaide and Perth?

If News Ltd have as much control as you claim and want teams in Adelaide and Perth then the NRL would have expanded into these markets years ago. PNG wouldn't be getting so much favourable coverage and platitudes, would they?

The big $’s in next tv deal will come from competitive bidders, not from specific team admission. This gives nrl much more scope on how it wants to build the comp for next 20 years.

Ch7 won't put in a serious bid. NRL, AwFuL and Cricket Australia are hesitant to go with Ch10.

What we do know for sure is even though the dolphins admission added 47% more brisbane club specific content for ch9 they paid nothing for it in this deal.

Didn't you just say that money comes from "competitive bidders"?

V'landys didn't take the rights to tender.

who the f**k is buying copies of the Courier Mail anymore and who the f**k would rely on it for NRL news? Only the most dopiest Queenslanders like Donkey, maybe.

Foxtel havent pressured NRl to expand at all, they'd be quite happy paying less for NRl and not seeing it grow. Especially now they've spent so much on AFL.

I havent said they want teams in perth or Adelaide, I think they dont really care either way. They have AFL tied up for 9 years.
youre the one claiming they want another team in Brisbane, Im not seeing any 'pressure' from them for that?

You're making a very good argument for teams in Adelaide and perth to get their audiences up to Sydney and Brisbane AFL levels lol

lf no one subscribed to The Courier-Mail then News Ltd would shut the company down.

You're quite narrow-minded if you think no one in Queensland bothers to read the newspaper because you haven't bought a copy in years. Go out and see the world some time. You'll see it has all sorts of people.

I think I know why you're such a prickly bastard. You got frostbite in your clitoris while watching the football at Bruce Stadium, turning you into a refugee who had to resettle in SEQ. You thawed out your cl*t on the Goldie and got sand in your vagina.

So you're noe admitting there's no internet from News Ltd to expand into Adelaide and Perth?

Progress at last.

Does that mean you'll stop promoting Perth as the "favourite" for the 19th licence?

No juniors. No support from the broadcasters. No demand from the Perth market. The "consortium" is a few businessmen. Unless they're willing to sink $5m or more into the club each year then it will struggle make ends meet.

How would putting NRL teams in Adelaide get their audience up to AwFuL's level in Brisbane and Sydney?

Melbourne has had a team for 25 years. Its FTA audience is just 12k.

What makes you think Adelaide and Perth will average two or three times as many as Melbourne?

Which includes less than half the games.

Irrelevant.

It's still worth $115m per annum to the NRL.

Thanks for finally admitting your original statement is bullshit.

What's bullshit is you claiming that no one watches NRL on FTA in Adelaide and Perth because they've got Kayo, then saying you don't know how many people from Adelaide and Perth watch the NRL on Kayo.

Hopefully one day you leave 1998 and learn what streaming is.

Non-sequitur.
