You dumb arse any team is going to cost the nrl $20mill ayear, hence why the conversation around why its unlikely to be announced as happening until the 2028> tv deal is done and the nrl is confident it is getting at least $20million a year more in the new deal.

TV will pay for grant & also 9th game. There are articles which speculate on that number.
Expansion team should be financially strong enough not to get in trouble. This is why tigers are front runners

Great. No bid
You finally understand, there are no bids lol. Only interested bidders.

The confirmed interested bidders at this time we know of are
Easts Tigers
NS Bears
PNG consortium
WA consortium

glad we go there in the end, even if it did take you 12 months lol

Of course it should and no bid that can’t survive on a $17mill grant shouldn’t be allowed in. Admission will be based on location desired by nrl and financial security in the business case. As no one is privy to either we can but speculate.

Lol, location is secondary. How viable team is will be ultimate factor. NRL don't want another titans relying on football operations & unnamed business ppl.

Ur $20 million figure seems very conservative but all ur numbers are trash..

“Location is secondary” lol
if that was the case they’d just open up club 18 to bids from anywhere, bet they don’t.

Redcliffe announced intention of bidding years out..

as did WA, way back in 2010 in fact lol.

There was a lot of disgruntlement by fans and govt in 2013 when the fever of the interested bidders was squashed by Grant and Smith.
Until the nrl decides where it wants club 18, and interested bidders being in the newspaper won’t make a jot to that decision, the wa consortium have decided to keep their powder dry it would seem.

Though it may be announced very shortly from the rumours I’m hearing on the ground here.

Tick tok.

2010?! Benny & Sage?!
Cumins and WARL in 2010 with the WA Reds bid brand which became the WC Pirates bid brand in 2012.

sage and Benny popped up in 2012 when it was looking likely the nrl was going to introduce new clubs in 2013.

so to correct you cumins has been an interested bidder since 2010 And remains so Leading the current consortium putting a bid application together. But yeh Redcliffe blah blah

maybe you could tell us again how WA’s hopes are gone since McGowan retired? That’s always good for a laugh.

Right, the failed bids from a decade ago. If they still around certainly havrn't heard anything from them.

They weren’t failed bids as there was no opportunity to bid. Unlike the tigers however who are a failed bidder lol

do you know how to google?
