I am an expansionist, I want to see new markets grow for the game, adding same markets is boring and ultimately will be self defeating.
My choice as an expansionist would have been
Perth club 17,
PNG or NZ2 club 18,
Brisbane2 club 19,
Adelaide/PNG/NZ2 club 20.

Having got Brisbane2, sort of, I most def dont want to see us spend a further license on Brisbane just because Brisbane2 wasnt the club it should have been.

Actually now I think about it Tigers running a PNG club makes total sense. I think most are in agreement its likely to fall flat on its face, so i guess when it does they can just move the games to Suncorp, rebrand and hey ho, Donkey gets his team lol

Im an expansionist and also pro perth as I live here and it offers a compelling case as the most likely place to be able to sustainably grow the game into a brand new market.
Id be happy to see any teams come in next 3 as long as its not another nsw or qlnd one.

a real expansionist would accept pngs bid dwarfs anything Perth can muster and accept the defeat with grace and that’s it’s good for the game

I don’t think Perth should get a team

but if vlandys does it I’ll accept it’s good for the game and welcome their entry

No fumbleball fan wanted another Brisbane NRL club for obvious reasons, especially the Dolphins with its huge junior development programs

I want long term sustainable and viable clubs in new markets that grow RL beyond what it currently is. At the moment potentially Perth that fits that bill better than most.
NZ2 has a lot of potential if they can get a backer and build a business case,

PNG no one can answer what happens when the govt money runs out? How they will eventually be a genuine PNG club, not a fifo qlnd club? how do you make a $35mill prof sports club work in third world country? I love the ambition but it seems fraught with lack of sustainability.

Brisbane3 just isnt needed at the moment when we have a number of other new markets we can grow into.
