Either acknowledge every bid is aiming shots at eachother or none at all.
TV money is great but whats the use if you don't have the fan base to support it?

Haven;t seen the Reds having a go at anyone?

TBF if you've got 15k fans or 20k fans means little when we are talking tens of millions of $'s in TV value to the whole comp.

How I see it at the moment:

Stadium
B2 üüü
Reds üü (extra tick conditional on redvelopment)
Bears ü

Finances
Bears üüü
B2 üü
Reds ü

Fanbase
Bears üüü
B2 üü
Reds ü

Value to TV
B2 üüü
Reds üü
Bears ü

Support of other clubs
Reds üüü
B2 üü
Bears ü

Expansion of game
Reds üüü
Bears üü
B2 ü

Plenty of pros and cons to all 3 bids, we shall see what priorities the IC has I guess.

The Reds have no reason to have a go at other bids because they've been most peoples 1st choice team for awhile. It's better to have that 15k-20k foundation to build on growing the support base then having 0 people and expecting big numbers.

TBh I think all 3 bids will draw upon 15k-20k paying fans. I'd be very surprised if any of the three couldn't draw a min 15k avg and doubt any of them will draw 20k plus (although I would say the B2 has the most potential to do so given stadium size and derby potential boosting the avg)

The Central Coast Bears had more fans show up then Brisbane 2 fans.
One bloke with a Norths jersey from about 1989 and another who looked like HE was from 1989.

I don't honestly think the Bears want to make this about which side will attract the most fans.

has to laugh at the North Sydney Bears logo on the news item as well, bit of a faux pas for a bid claiming to be from the CC!

Loved that guys sunnies, and I thought the 70's porno look had died out!

Show me one Brisbane 2 fan/supporter that is currently a supporter from another team and i'll shut up about Brisbane 2 fans, or the lack there of.

Probably would of been some kid of work experience told to find a Bears rugby league logo and thought that was it.

Happens all the time, thats why the old bulldogs logo still pops up from time to time in media stories.

That's true because a club with a brand that has 103 years behind it will have generational support, while a club that's started new will have only a few fans. However lucky the Bears arent greedy and dont count Norths membership numbers on top of Central Coast Bears..

And the bloke saying "bring back the Bears.... the Central Coast Bears" like he almost forgot that last bit.

As I've said before, it seems like most of the fans of this bid are clinging to the only hope they have of seeing North Sydney return rather than truly wanting a team for the CC.

I like the fact that the Brisbane bid is for a totally new franchise with a new identity, no baggage and no confusion about who or what the team is. It might mean the club has no fans now, but it will mean they have plenty come 2013 and beyond.

Do I really have to explain the Norths/Central Coast/Bears scenario again? Or will you read through the CCBEARS thread understand it in full? The high majority of the Central Coast rugby league community know it's in the best interests of the bid and general community to have the Bears brand (the team which built the stadium, chose to relocate, engages in the community week in week out, has historic ties with the cc, the corporate support behind the brand, the financial clout achieved due to the brand etc etc) attached to this bid.

In short the Bears are the Central Coast and the Central Coast are the Bears. However just because they are in an unique position to move forward while maintaining links to it's history and heritage, shouldn't make people upset. In the greater scope of things, this is a magnificent thing for the game.

oh and by the way the unofficial bears call is "we want the bears.. the central coast bears.." or/and "bring back the bears.. the central coast bears" with the only reference of location being Central Coast.

Why can't we re-instate the South Queensland franchise ? I wasn't a big fan of their previous nickname, how about the South Queensland Seahawks ?

Would as most, like to see the Western Reds return.

The point is, Brisbane and surrounds has a far greater population and a second club has a far greater financial potential, crowd potential, player potential, media profile potential and TV ratings potential than the CC, even if it wants to try and suggest that North Sydney is somehow part of its territory.

The Brisbane market is the third biggest in Australia and the second biggest RL area. Currently it shares the elite pro sport market with three other football codes and based purely on club numbers only holds 1/4 of the market. That needs to increase. We need a bigger market share in such a big market, especially one that is so important to RL.

LOL, well said old friend!

Lets have a look with the buffoonish mong lords on here, shall we.

You can take whatever the central coast can bring, right and you can double it or triple it for Brisbane 2.

Central coast is a step to the side, and Brisbane 2 is a step forward.

the broncos earn what, 10million+ from seating alone during a season. the central coast, pffft, with THAT stadium? its not even complete!

It only has 3 sides!? der!

And what about regional fan pulling power. come on, central coast versus what will soon be australias 2nd largest city, if not the largest. give me a break.

Thanks neil. I wish you'd come back and kick those tools out AGAIN! This time buddy, they are donning high heels and stilts and pretending to be bigger than brisbane 2.

omg. only in league.

this is like the day the beatles came to america. sorry elvis.

A 2nd brisbane side is a no brainer. Ipswich was never, ever going to be a viable option. The amount of vocal support that has disappeared from the Ipswich bid is laughable.

CC is also a no brainer, as is Perth. The one thing that is great is that we as a game have 3 excellent bids, of which all could be included.

What a position the NRL is in, shame no other code in this country is in a similar position. Loving the hype surrounding the next round of inclusion, will bring nothing but positive PR.

its awesome, love it

Agreed.

Central Coast, with an exceptionally well organised and supported bid are (arguably) the third best expansion option.

I think that's a credit to the game, frankly.

A shame, cos the Bears will be shafted again - and rightly so!

small timers. way to go whitakker.

I haven't done that. I asked him if he had support for the proposition. That is all. Again, the rest you have (for some reason) made up.

Further, believe me about what exactly. I haven't said they are or aren't true. I just asked that the basis for the claim be, at the very least, explained.

I'm not sure why you are seemingly so personally offended about this. If in the course of a discussion someone presents some information as a fact, and that fact is relevant to proving a point in issue, it is normal to seek clarification about the reliability of that information.

its a weird stoush you find yourself in; I actually agree with you.

make no mistake people. Brisbane 2 is here to KICK. YOUR. ASS

Brisbane 2 and perth for mine for inclusion.

My credentials? lol.....i picked every major development in the game for the past 10 years at least several years in advance....but people either hate me or try and stiffle me.....

I am ahead of the game people.

I was banging on about the commission in 2003. pffft. no brainer. I am an analytical genius.

1) when was the last time you went to the central coast and spent a day there with the local football teams and talked to the residents. Getting an impression like that off nothing but forum sites is not the right way to go about things and will serverly limit your view on the subject.

2) I'm totally confused by the birabane 2 bid. Are they south Brisbane? Are they the while of Brisbane? Are they north west Brisbane? Who runs them? Some guy whose pissed off because he couldn't own the broncos? Or a guy who wants to make a cheap buck or a guy who is genuiely interested in growing the game. What's the ownership stucture? Why are they sill talking about possible part ownership with a Bering organsation after being told no. So many things that weren't addressed at the launch.

One things is sure, it's deinkrely not a community driven bid.

its brisbane 2 mate

not community wannabees 101.

it will be for profit and success. any way they can.

do you think paul morgan etc had the smell of grass on their shoes when they walked into their first press conference.

wait for the football people to get involved. thats when it will go from money to the paddock.

hey, they could fail. they may not but they are going to give it a shake.

their one prime weapon. brisbane is rl town, drenched in the blood of our game and the honor of its people.

other towns, god help them if the bid comes up with the goods. they will leave no stone un turned.

That answers nothing, just passionate crap from someone who is letting the potential of such a bid cloud the thought process on the bid. Brisbane is no more a rugby league town then the central coast is.
