Thatd be the interesting one. Would old Balmain fans feel anymore attached to the Brisbane Tigers than they do the Wests Tigers? It seems unlikely. Then would the new Wests Tigers fans follow a Wests Magpies team? Seems unlikely. So other than Easts being able to be called the Tigers is there any point?

I think a lot of people here are reading a hell of a lot into some 80 yr old’s comments which have been subsequently refuted by the Chair of the Balmain board .. your opinion is probably just as valid as his

Could it work ? Yes

but Balmain would be losing games at lo so what’s the point

no way easts tigers play many games at leichardt oval so unless Sydney clubs move their home games there it’s a non starter

You have to remember Balmain as an entity doesn't even have a nsw cup team, they are well below all that, as much as we put shit on newtown, at least they are reserve grade... I would suggest that Leo or whom he thinks he represents would break away just to do that, there's SFA chance of garnering a NRL licence in Sydney or NSW that ship sailed a very long time ago
