There are so many possibilities for next year

Fullback

Hodges
Barba
Milford
Eden
Hoffman

Halves

Barba
Milford
Hunt

the only certainty in our spine is Hunt will be 7 and McCullough 9.

I'm fascinated about what Wayne will do with this team next year. There's so much talent there, but none of the players are playing to potential. + Wayne is pretty ruthless when making decisions. There's no shortage of $ so it's not difficult to let players go..

You have 4 fullbacks, no 5/8, and Hodges is wasting salary cap dollars. And where to fit Darius Boyd?

I have a feeling some of the current roster are going to end up at the Titans ...

I think Barba and Hoffman could play outside backs, punt Hodges and Copley, and throw everything at Cherry Evans, put Milford at fullback.

One of these surplus backs (like Barba) could make a really good 9 as well.

Of course I am not the master coach. Whatever happens I can't wait to see what Wayne does with this team.

I don't think huge drastic changes need to be made to be honest. We have the playing roster with Milford and Garbutt joining the team to win the whole damn thing. Packer would certainly add to the team with his aggression, but keeping Hannant wouldn't be a bad move either.

I wish people would stop with the DCE to Broncos stuff, it ain't gonna happen.

I think Barba has shown a lot of promise in the 6 to be honest. I think with a full off and pre season training there and starting the year there he'll improve a lot. Worst case scenario is Ashley Taylor gets his chance, which probably isn't to bad.

Again I say we have the right players for next year, people will be surprised I think the difference that will happen.

Of course it will also be interesting what Bennett does with Steve Kearney, as I believe he'll be bringing Kevvy Walters with him. Many people under-estimate the impact support staff have on a team and think the coach does everything. Personally I think Walters will bring a lot to the team.

Why do you say the DCE to Brisbane wont happen? You might be right, but why is it out of the question? Brisbane could offer him a lot more $ .... and he's a QLDer, so it seems like a perfect fit to me.

You have the players but just not the right ones for every position.

I think that Bris could do with Corey Norman at this point :p

We have some quality halves in under 20s and ISC - just needs a development focused coach at the club rather than a "coach-to-save-my-arse" coach to develop players to their potential.

"Gareth Eden or whatever his name is signed with Brisbane. Nathan Brown called him the Billy Slater of Super League but everyone hates him in england and calls him a coward who cant catch".

Just read this on a online chat last night watching the Cowboys give it to the Manly - Go Cows!!! No idea of any validity to the statement?

Support staff and the need for a new skills coach should be huge.

We need a kicking coach, and someone who can really hone our set plays. We've relied on some ad-lib brilliance from Hunt and Hodges too often this year, because our set structures look slow and laborious. Top sides like the Rooster and Storm don't miss a beat while we're always a pass behind. Gould was on the money in commentary last night, but that's been the case all year.

From what I have read, this is basically done, but there has been no official announcement yet. Here is a link with the rumour:

I'd imagine this would be only a depth signing.

I think that is because we aren't a set plays kind of team. I would rather our attack be encouraged to play what's in front of it. When we try set plays as our main attack we struggle, when we are out of games or start games with an attacking play what's in front of us mind set we dominate and look very exciting. We also need to keep the attacking ad lib mind set going when we are in front and not protect a lead no matter how big or how small. We are a confidence team, when we play with the right style our confidence shows in attack and defense, when try to play too structured we struggle with confidence and it to is reflected in both our attack and defense.

Exactly. Heaps of ad lib players in the broncs team that would struggle to implement a game plan. Which makes the Bennett scenario even more interesting.

I would say through this year it wasn't trying to play "structured" that brought us undone. It was basic skills - both in attack and defence. Our passing game would have to be one of the worst in the league. So to our support play. Too much one out plays.

WB will be bringing in Merkin in from 2016 - Not sure how this fits the recruitment policy, with Merkin having never played FB, but at least this strengthens the bench.

So it's looking more and more likely we will get Boyd

http://rugbyleagueweek.com.au/bennett-i-boyd-broncos/

Now when I first read this I thought, what the hell, and first choice fullback, no way. But then I thought about it. Out of Boyb, Milford and Barba who offers the best in the number 1? Who is safer under the high ball? Safer as a defender? Stronger kick returner? The answer to all those is Boyd. Yes Barba and Milford have more attacking flair for sure, but all round game, Boyd will be better for us in the number 1 than the other two. Now this is provided we get him at the right price without losing Barba or Milford.

Bennett is right when looking at it without biased, without considering Boyd in the media.

Our best backline if we get Boyd is

1 - Boyd
2 - Vidot
3 - Copely
4 - Hodges
5 - Maranta
6 - Barba
7 - Hunt

14 - Milford

I think if we land Boyd then Hoffman is as good as gone. I think Bennett will play Reed at centre and Copely on the wing with Maranta left out.
