I'm fascinated about what Wayne will do with this team next year. There's so much talent there, but none of the players are playing to potential. + Wayne is pretty ruthless when making decisions. There's no shortage of $ so it's not difficult to let players go..
You have 4 fullbacks, no 5/8, and Hodges is wasting salary cap dollars. And where to fit Darius Boyd?
I have a feeling some of the current roster are going to end up at the Titans ...
I think Barba and Hoffman could play outside backs, punt Hodges and Copley, and throw everything at Cherry Evans, put Milford at fullback.
One of these surplus backs (like Barba) could make a really good 9 as well.
Of course I am not the master coach. Whatever happens I can't wait to see what Wayne does with this team.
I don't think huge drastic changes need to be made to be honest. We have the playing roster with Milford and Garbutt joining the team to win the whole damn thing. Packer would certainly add to the team with his aggression, but keeping Hannant wouldn't be a bad move either.
I wish people would stop with the DCE to Broncos stuff, it ain't gonna happen.
I think Barba has shown a lot of promise in the 6 to be honest. I think with a full off and pre season training there and starting the year there he'll improve a lot. Worst case scenario is Ashley Taylor gets his chance, which probably isn't to bad.
Again I say we have the right players for next year, people will be surprised I think the difference that will happen.
"Gareth Eden or whatever his name is signed with Brisbane. Nathan Brown called him the Billy Slater of Super League but everyone hates him in england and calls him a coward who cant catch".
Just read this on a online chat last night watching the Cowboys give it to the Manly - Go Cows!!! No idea of any validity to the statement?
And being eligible for grade and not coming back from two consecutive shoulder injuries.
Support staff and the need for a new skills coach should be huge.
We need a kicking coach, and someone who can really hone our set plays. We've relied on some ad-lib brilliance from Hunt and Hodges too often this year, because our set structures look slow and laborious. Top sides like the Rooster and Storm don't miss a beat while we're always a pass behind. Gould was on the money in commentary last night, but that's been the case all year.
I think that is because we aren't a set plays kind of team. I would rather our attack be encouraged to play what's in front of it. When we try set plays as our main attack we struggle, when we are out of games or start games with an attacking play what's in front of us mind set we dominate and look very exciting. We also need to keep the attacking ad lib mind set going when we are in front and not protect a lead no matter how big or how small. We are a confidence team, when we play with the right style our confidence shows in attack and defense, when try to play too structured we struggle with confidence and it to is reflected in both our attack and defense.
