I wish that I could take days off work for garbage, out of touch with reality beliefs.

Bloody hell.

He's got some real problems, he can't play Saturday either as a long long time ago, it was actually the last day of the week (Sabbath) before all the cults and nutters decided we should serve God on their Sunday(Catholicism).

Maybe you should look at what sport you are playing Hoppa for an actual living, if you are as religious as you think you are, you should not be putting your life on the line playing a sport which is known to have taken peoples lives, it is known as a sport that maims people and brings out responses in people supporting it that goes completely against one of your commandments in love thy neighbour.

Hoppa, if you think like this, Rugby League isn't the profession you need, you need to either be in your church or helping in some other humanistic/religious way. I reckon it has shown ever since you came back, your heart is not in it.

What's with all the abuse?

If anyone should have an issue with it it's his employer, and they appear not to.

Any excuse to attack people of religious beliefs. Like the time Hayne had the audacity to thank God on Twitter. That seemed to affect a lot of people too.

Very well stated.

Most people who go to church on Sunday are completely oblivious of what you just said.

Unbelievably, a bloke has a belief (I don't care what that is) to stand by his faith and is getting verbally belted by posters.

You pricks are the stone throwers in history.

Good luck to him for having the nutz to stand by what he believes in.

In today's, Gen Y and Gen Next material world, it is good to see a young bloke with principles.

I have principals - I don't skip work because of some made up bullshit.

What's the big deal? Faith is literally gullibility. Believing something with no objective evidence to do so. That's the big deal. If you want to believe in some made up stories, that's fine, but do so in your own home, in your own time, and acknowledge that it's made up bullcrap. Don't bring it into work or force it upon other people.

I will say, that in this particular case, as long as Will and the club have an agreement I see no problem from that point of view. However, if I was a Bulldogs fan, I would be filthy.

Gee... sounds like you have some issues with religion... And to be fair, you don't have evidence that it dosent exist either... its each to there own.

I don't need to provide evidence of something to not exist, otherwise the base stance for everything would be that "it exists, prove it doesn't". The burden of proof is always on a positive claim, "Rain exists, and here's why...". Otherwise, I can assert the Flying Spaghetti Monster is real and you couldn't prove it's not in objective terms.

And just to be more specific to your post, I'd have to ask what I'd be providing evidence for. If you're talking about religion, the evidence for that is everywhere, and it's man made. I can say this with confidence and cite evidence of the 30,000+ different religions world wide, all proclaiming they have the truth. If you're talking about god, I'd ask which one? And even then the burden of proof is still on the believer.

I'd be happy to have this conversation elsewhere; via PM or a specific religion thread if there is such a thing.

The PC police are out.

One time a coeliac told me that "with the power of god" he will heal.

Hilarious.
