Very happy for the Reds, but very disappointed for Brothers, probably out of finals contention now unfortunately :(

Wenty stay on top and like the Bulls are guaranteed a top 3 finish after they beat Chester Hill 48-18 today.

Points:

Wenty 25 (+79)
Bulls 24 (+220)
Cabra (+132), Windsor 22 (+98)
Mounties 21 (+68)
Brothers 20 (+36)

Southern Districts 15
Campbelltown 10
Chester Hill 6
WA Reds 5

Brothers loss means that cannot finish in the top 3 but they can finish in the 5 if they beat Cabra and the Bulls beat Mounties next week but if Mounties win, Brothers would have to win by more than 30 and Windsor lose to Wenty by more than 30. So there are still plenty of different scenarios that can result from the top 6 play playing each other next week.

Finally, after running last all year, the WA Reds can hand a second consecutive wooden spoon to Chester Hill by beating them in Perth next week.

Wenty secured their first Minor Premiership in 10 years after they hammered Windsor 54-12 today. Astro Waetford scored 3 tries and Wenty move into the final series as clear favourites. Windsor were at full strength and now await tomorrow's results to see if they progress to the play offs.

Yipppeee we avoided the spoon! In what has been a pretty disappointing season all round we finally came good towards the end and managed to drag ourselves off the bottom with a last game of the season win. Well done Reds. lots of effort and must be hard doing all that travelling. Hopefully we will strengthen for next season.

Beware the ‘Wolfpack’! Many will remember the 62-12 shellacking Windsor copped at the hands of Bankstown City in last year’s semi-finals. Windsor would have been forgiven if they dropped their bundle and exited the competition the next weekend but they didn’t. The ‘Wolfpack’ went on to claim the Jim Beam Cup over the very team that handed them their worst ever final series defeat. The self belief from last year’s final series is something that the highly talented Mounties outfit will have to overcome when they clash in this elimination fixture. Mounties aren’t new kids on the blocks when it comes to final series though; they have seasoned professionals like captain Drew Dalton, Damien Mostyn and Anthony Farah. Where Bankstown and Cabramatta can afford to hold their cards close to their chest these two teams have to leave nothing in reserve if they want to stay alive in season 2009.

In finishing second and third respectively both clubs have earned safe passage to the second week of the finals win or lose. Bankstown City will be without veteran backrower Paul Winterstein who still has one week to serve courtesy of a grade four careless high tackle charge while Cabramatta will only be missing Alan Burns who is sidelined with a knee injury. Rumours circulating last weekend suggest Bankstown City will be well rested after giving a few key players the weekend in Round 18. The game looks to be one for the ages with both teams possessing the troops to easily take out this year’s premiership. Finals football has the tendency to play on the mind of a man. The team that can handle the pressure of expectation will prevail. The winner will play Minor Premiers Wentworthville for a spot in the inaugural Bundaberg Red Cup Grand Final.

Trevor Bolt will play 5/8 for Windsor after playing last week in the State Cup side and Ben Stewart moves to hooker. Matt Naden comes in on the wing for his first game so he must be up from A Grade.

The Bulls have lost Brett Finn, Mark Butler and Dean Vicelich to injury over the last few weeks but Brent Beddy, Benson Topou and Toufic Nicholas have returned from long term injuries.

Cabra and Mounties have been fairly stable over recent weeks with Mounties bringing Eddie Sua back up from A Grade and Blake Blackburn returned from Queensland offsetting the loss of Pat Galea.

Yeah Joe Falemaka was very consistent for Shellharbour last year. He moved to the Sharks this year but had some injuries and didnt get much of a go so he moved to the Bulls before 30 June and has played in the Bundy side there since even though the wrong teams are named in the program each week.

Hutch retired at the end of last season but when Windsor had a bad start in the Bundy he returned to the side in about round 5. He missed 5 or 6 weeks with an eye socket injury but has not played any games in the State Cup this season. Ben Harden played mixed grades last year for Windsor but not sure what club he is playing for this year.

2 out 2 to the Rock:

Cabra 39 Bulls 26
Mounties 33 Windsor 20

Windsor put on a much better performance than last week but blew several chances in the second half while Mounties cashed in on most of there chances.

Cabra led for most of the game. Falemaka didnt play and the depth in the forwards looked a bit short for the Bulls. They need some of those injured players back if they are going to be a threat.

Dallalana looked like he had a nasty injury near the end of the game but this could be Cabra's year.

Mounties exacted revenge on Windsor yesterday after being rorted in last years final.
No help from the referee this time Windsor and it showed with half back Trindall all but giving up with 20 minutes to go.
Mounties just too strong and skillful for them.

A disgraceful performance on the sidelines by the Windsor officials (one of whom is a board member) who sledged the Mounties coach, bench, and supporters all game however, to no avail.

Maybe, instead of trying to stack the Bundy Cup team he should have let the players who got them to the semi's do the job and let the State Cup players concentrate on trying to get back into the top 8 of that comp?

Just a suggestion, but maybe crashing out of the Bundy Cup comp in such spectacular fashion and possibly missing out on State Cup finals will give them a wake up that you dont go into State Cup to win Bundy and the one man show doesent work.........hahahahaha.

I believe Daniel Cray is out due to a fractured skull or bone in his skull from the Penrith brothers game. I was there and saw him get a serious knock and get knocked out didnt look right the whole game , not sure when he will be coming back poor kid has had bad luck with injuries and is playing with a broken bone in his jaw so i've been told also. Goodluck to him and the cabra boys!

Great win on the weekend also Trent Trotter and Sammy Aiga were magnificent. GO CABRA
