CABRA DEMOLISHED CHESTER HILL 58 - 10... Halftime score to cabra 26 - 0...at NEW ERA SPORTS GROUND.

Cabra have to hot favourites now. There were a couple of upsets today. Mounties and the Bulls kept their finals hopes alive in must win games. The last score I heard from Windsor had Mounties in front 36-18 with 10 minutes to go and the Bulls beat Brothers 28-6.

were in the Buisness End of the Season, & I Noticed the 'Big Gun' Clubs are Starting to Stamp their Authority on the Comp.. with 4 Rounds Remaining..i would'nt say Cabra are.. ' Hot Favourites ' ..we are just Starting to find some form.. we face Wenty Magpies next Game & They are Quite capable of Beating Any Team in the 'BRC ' . I Still Regard Wenty Magpies As a Major Threat if they make the Semi's & The Bulls have Found some Late Season form Also.. That Combination between Tippett & Little is Finally Gelling Together. we have Four Tough Remaining Matches Against Wenty magpies[away]...The Bulls[home].. Windsor[away].. &..Brothers[away].. Providing we can stay 'Injury Free or keep Injuries to a Minimum.. were in there with a 'Good Shot' for the Semi's !!!....................

What's happened to Brothers? They were looking really good but have fallen away badly

It is hard to say whether Brothers have fallen away. In the first 10 games they won 7 and lost to Wenty, Bulls and Windsor in games that were weeks apart. In the last 3 weeks they played the same 3 teams and got the same result. In this cut throat comp one loss can see you drop 3 places so 3 in a row puts them in real danger.

Darren Baker has not played last 2 games so it would be like Windsor without Tricky. He killed them yesterday.
A few other injuries also have not helped.
But not bad for a team made up of players from their A grade side over the last 2 years and a few from Penriths 20's squad.
They have been in most games that they have lost.

I am sure there budget isn't as big as some of the leagues club backed teams who dominate the top 1/2 of the draw.

Reds Crash Through For First Win

The WA Reds finally showed what they are made of with a never say die effort at Charles Riley Reserve in North Beach beating top of the table Wentworthville Magpies 26 to 16. There were signs early on for the Reds as they seemed to look different and had that edge.
They put a stamp their name on the game around 10 minutes before half time and while still behind were making the Magpies work hard for their tries. They did not let the moment get in front of them.
Both sides played at a good level of football exchanging sets of six and keeping pressure on. It was a good game of defensive football. Finally at the 21 minute mark the Magpies crossed for the first try.
It wasn’t until 9 minute later that the Reds were able to level the score. Savi Hafoka crossed after a scrum feed which saw the Reds catch the Magpies short on the right wing.
The Magpies scored again through Sione Kaafi, but his work was equaled with a try to Steve Gherardi with just one minute before the break.
After an even first half the Reds went into the shed just 8 to 10 down.
The Reds did not let the pressure get the better of them and there was no break in the score until the 55 minute mark when Jason Godecke broke through to take the lead.
The crowd also sensed that something special may happen.
The Reds were 14 – 10 up but with only a two man bench with Nathan Searle and Joel Lillyman off injured, it was a nervous time.
With just 15 minutes left on the clock the Reds let a try through under the posts to go behind by two points. But they continued to believe in the task.
Joel Freeman scored an inspirational try with 9 minutes to go to push the Reds out to a 20 to 16 lead. It was then they knew they could win.
With the Reds working out wide with 3 minutes to go Godecke crossed for his second and with the conversion took the score to 26 to 16.
Coach Justin Nixon was ecstatic and there was a big sense of relief with the team and crowd in the first win of the season and finally a belief in the team that they can win the big games.
“We always stayed in the game and knew if we kept the errors down that we always had a chance. It may be an upset, but we knew we had it in us. They played to the game plan and kept pushing up the right wing where Gareth Morton and Godecke took control. It was a great team win”.
Best players for the Reds were Gareth Morton, Steve Gherardi and Isaac Thomas with Joel Freeman sensational off the bench.

Mounties and Southern Districts have regained a few players over recent weeks this weeks important clash. Blake Blackburn is back with Mounties after stints with Brisbane Norths and Wynnum Manly while Southern Districts have Atelea Vea back from the Sharks for whom he played in the NRL earlier this season and Chance Bunce back from Mackay Cutters.

Fred Briggs, who played half a season of NRL for the Bulldogs in both 2007 and 2008 is listed for the Bulls in their big game against Cabramatta this week.
