The Dragons have more juniors than a Polynesian wedding.

Dogs & Chooks don't develop players. The rest of the clubs do OK if you discount Melbourne and even they have a solid juniors program in development.

Conclusion - Dogs and Chooks are pretty much the same joint. I think the fans of both clubs would agree.

I read the thread until it was derailed by the usual suspects, but if Sonny Bill apologised and then didn't hold the club to ransom, then I'd be fine to have him back.

I don't believe he would have left if not due to the board at the time, and neither would almost the entire 04 team (some would obviously). An apology (a proper one) would go a long way.

I can't imagine the dogs would really want SBW back - too much bad blood, and if they're smart they'd spend the money on someone like Foran instead.

But if they DID get SBW, then I, and most Manly supporters, would be somewhat relieved that the Dogs have less money to spend on chasing our players.

This. I wouldn't mind getting fed up with talk of poaching multiple. What I was looking forward to with Des coming was to get the development back on track.

I wouldn't mind 1 player to plug gaps, but hitting up a team for multiple players irks me.

I tend to believe we aren't now, however in saying that TGreenberg also said that he was off to uk to find a coach, moore was safe etc.

He has never ever been big for doing our club recruitment out in the public, hell frank pritchards was all quiet till it came out that day. Only one i remember it being all over about was mortimer.

How on earth is $BW the best forward in the game, he could barely make the all blacks reserve bench, and only did so management could save face since he is the highest paid player in nz rugby.

He is the NZ champ in boxing now, without fighting one legitimate opponent - so he is way over-hyped in everything he does.

Not really, but we've at least had one legitimate heavyweight contender in the last 20 years, which is more than Australia. Tua even though he's well past it would cream SBW, as would Cameron.

Not really hard to get into his face it's basicly means an increase in your Line Defence if he drops back deep lets say as deep as soward to give himself room if the defence line is fast it will be a loss of ground anyways...... when he was playing before the tempo of the game was a fair bit slower and the defensive lines of most teams werent very fast.

I honestly think like Justin Hodges (Who is largely ineffective now due to the changes in how teams defensive lines now work) SBW will struggle to adapt and would Just be a super expensive foward with a chance to offload. Yeah Agree why the feck would the Dogs want another overpriced foward prone to injuries when their halves need so much work...

Besides I was never Enamored or bedazzled with SBW "SKILLS"

Soward is sometimes 20m behind the play the ball, with the defence 10m on the other side of the ruck, thats 30m up and back - in his face....every tackle?
With SBW 3, 4 wide of the ruck your edge defenders & backs will be knackered in no time

Actually he does

The most important people on the park are 1, 6, 7 & 9.
The Dogs are deficient in most of those areas to some degree.

They would be better off investing in a good half back rather than a 2nd rower.

My Point still stands if SBW is standing 20 meters back by the time he receives the ball and gets up a full head of steam (Thats if he doesnt decide to run sideways) the defence will meet him after he runs about 10 meters thats a loss of 10 meters...... and if he is just rushing the defence head on as normal whats the point the dogs already have as good if not better fowards to cart the ball up and offload. (Certainly more durable fowards)

Actually you have no idea or can oyu not work out the basics of foward motion?? Or do you suppose $BW sits there and waits for the defence to run up and tag him?? LOL Say he is 20 meters back he starts running so by the time the ball reaches him he has a full head of steam and hits the ball at pace if the defence line is quick enough (and there are some goddamn quick defensive teams out there (storm if they get the wrestle on, Manly, Cowboys, Broncos) Who are also tireless He wont get 10 meters before they reach him....

Anyways I digress I think it would be good for the game to get him back (the Dogs deserve an apology) But I really don't see him making a huge impact nor do I think he is worth the money he will demand.
