There is a Central Coast Bears doublepage article spread in the august edition of alpha
magazine titled "out of hibernation". Look out for it. Go the bears!

......and is Alpha Magazine a Central Coast Business...........that would be a big nope......not unless Umina is going to change its name to Alexandria

so you guys are looking for AFL players to line up for the Team, in case you are not ready, now that would be funny......as i thought there would be Central Coast Juniors lining up from, Graham Park to the Main bar of the Woy Woy Hotel to play for you

sorry, i made a mistake Alpha Magazine inferred AFL Players.......but you apparently are looking outside our code for players......where is all the millions of juniors that would want to play for the Bears

Nothing like a fan of the Manly "protected species" Scum questioning the prospects of another club.

Jizzer, I'd be more focussed on Manly's issues - as players seem to be walking out the door pretty quickly and Brokeback Oval is becoming an easy 2 points for visiting teams.

 That is one of the dumbest posts I've read.

how is it a dumb post, all these bears supporters say that local buisness is behind the bears....i point out that one of the local buisness is supposedly having a family fun day.....and don`t advertise it on their website, anywhere and he comes back with well alpha magazine is doing a spread, as if that is a central coast business alpa magazine is based at alexandria......and if you check their website about 3/4 the way down the blurb they mention the bears and that they are looking outside our code for players....in case they are not ready

check it out for yourself

The dumb part I was referring to was your Alpha magazine remark. Why a national magazine needs to be based in Gosford to do a write-up on the Bears has me absolutely stumped. Makes no sense as to why you'd make such a stupid comment.

i made comment about a CENTRAL COAST BUSINESS not supporting a bears family fun day on their website.....anywhere at all, and he replied about the alpha magazine spread....imo, inferring that it is a central coast business.....if he was`nt.......well i will gladly eat my humble pie

He was referring to Alpha as they were promoting, he never suggested they were a CC business. YOu really lack intelligence if you believe otherwise.

I only post new info and news about the central coast bears bid, like the alpha or family fun day. I'm not gonna waste my time replying to a douchebag sea eagles supporter with vendettas. If u wanna find out who the local businesses are then look through www.centralcoastbears.com.au website and find out for yourself. Alternatively email Grag Florimo and ask, his email add is on the site too.

GALLOP: YOU WILL HAVE A TEAM

NATIONAL Rugby League chief executive David Gallop has confirmed the Central Coast is still very much on the expansion radar.

Recent media reports have pressed the claims of expansion hopefuls Perth and Ipswich. But Gallop said this week that the coast was still very much in contention.

“There’s no rigid pecking order but it’s fair to say the coast is one of the leading contenders,” Gallop said.

While he anticipated the issue of expansion would come back on the agenda in about 12 months, Gallop said there was still no certainty of expansion at that stage.

“It’s always been a timing issue,” he said.

“It’s about the bid team having a sustainable business model and about the game being ready.”

But he said he had “no doubt” there would be an NRL team playing out of Bluetongue Stadium, Gosford, at some stage.

He said among the key selling points of the Central Coast were the presence of Bluetongue Stadium, a population keen on its rugby league and the opportunity to reconnect with the history of the Bears.

Gallop said the Bears’ bid team had been regularly keeping him up to date and were conscious of the need for the team to “live and breathe” the Central Coast.

* National Rugby League fans get their final fix for the year at Bluetongue Stadium in a week, when Manly hosts Wests Tigers in their round 20 clash on July 25 at 3pm.

Mumbling, stumbling, uncommitted, useless piece of two-faced News Limited sh*t.

The same sort of non-committal, disinterested sh*t this idiot was spouting in 2004 - before he shafted the Central Coast Bears by getting the Dolphin/Titan/COE's across the line.

Doesn't this f**kwit have any pride - still pretending that he's not a News Limited plant but a dedicated rugby league man?

News Limited are a disgrace - they have f**ked up journalism standards, sporting indepedennce and rugby league. Surely this abortion Gallop can be moved by Murdoch to some other industry which News Limited is trying to f**k up and be the News lackey there pretending to give a sh*t.

That doesn't sound particularly promising for Bear's fans. Why is he so non specific?

Your agenda against the Central Coast is painfully noticeable.

yeah hillbilly, just stop it-you'll go blind

and if you want a good read about the mighties, the suicide/murder of 1999 [what i call the great disaster] and a Gosford future then read on.

I'm a member of the ASSH, Sporting Tradions, the journal [Volume 27 Numer 1 May 2010 to be precise] has an article written by Andrew Moore Eric Olthwaite and the Demise of the North Sydney Bears pp 19-36.

In short, as the title suggests-discusses what happened in 99 and where we are today [Olthwaite being a fictional Michael Palin created character, analogy being draw between the fictional Yorkshire northerner and the Bears-possible a long bow drawn there, but].

And besides articles on American cricket history, the ARU and 19th century NSW Fencing! there are reviews of three league books. One by Greg Mallory i have read about Brisbane RL, and two more about Souths [a social history of sorts by Charles Little] and the Oberon Tigers [by Wendy Casey]

IP/Copyright laws being what they are, you'll have to check it out yourself, dare i say join the

To quote a fictional character from the TV show Father Ted in response to tea refusal "go on, go on, go on, go on, go on"
