So? Who cares who had the last go? If a different NSW team other than the Bears was admitted last time would you still be saying that RE the Bears bid this time. Stupid logic.

Not stupid logic. Ipswich and Central QLD aren't ready, their bids are still amateurish. QLD got a team just 3 years ago. Their is more to Australia than just QLD. Bears and Reds this time and in 2018 or whenever it is you can add TWO qld teams if you want.

Thing is, if expansion doesn't happen in 2013 the Bears probably will never be admitted. With the small chance that they will be admitted in 2013 anyway.

Bears bid is the most advanced... now. Wait until bid submission time. The Jets bid will be ready by then. People are acting like bids are due now. By that logic, sure, it would be foolish to admit the Jets, but who knows what they have behind doors. Just because they haven't whored their bid out to the public doesn't mean they're not on track.

There's more to Australia than just QLD? Of course. In the RL world, however there isn't much more. With the Reds almost guaranteed, it's between QLD and NSW. With NSW having 10 teams already and QLD 3 (AFL 2 QLD teams), you'd have to lean towards QLD for the next expansion.

By when? in 3 months time? in 12 weeks? They are going to do all that the Bears and Reds have done over 3 years in 3 months? not likely mate.

Just because they haven't whored their bid out to the public doesn't mean they're not on track.

The winner on of the most baseless comment ever made on any forum site around the world goes to .... dgsfan.

Are you saying what the Bears have now took them 3 years? If so that's not very good management.

That's my thinking. Just because it took the Bears 3 years doesn't mean a competent bid team couldn't do it in less time.

im sure thay could come up with a business plan in 3 months, thats all they need

Really? who said that? The NRL have already asked for more then just that.

That's my thinking. Just because it took the Bears 3 years doesn't mean a competent bid team couldn't do it in less time.

Can Ipswich get a community feel about the club in three months? ahh no they can't they are already struggling to find a identity and have no ground to play at. They can't play at Suncorp for obvious reasons.

How many financial members can the ipswich jets get in 3 months when the people of Ipswich are questioning this bid themselves?

How many people will pay $5,000 for a membership for ipswich in three months?

Can ipswich make a great feel among people in more then one community? Can ipswich gain support in areas they want to represent like Toowoomba and Logan in 3 months?

Can ipswich get 23 junior clubs working towards one goal in 3 months?

Can ipswich get out in the community and attain community efforts and community day for three years over three months?

Can ipswich sponsor events like an aboriginal footy day in three months?

Can ipswich create a feel amongst their entire community that they will be getting a team in 2013 in three months?

Can ipswich get around 40 sponsors in three months?

Can ipswich get any sponsors to pay them actual (money that is handed over from the sponsors bank account to the bids account) money in three months?

Can ipswich reach 5,000 members (that was set by the NRL) in three months?

We are still waiting on ipswich aims? where are they?

Can ispwich get anybody to underwrite financially in three months? If so can they get unwritten for $10 million dollars.

You can not say the Bears have a bad management just because you are not familiar with the bid numbnuts.

Just because the Bears bid is good doesn't asure them a spot in the NRL. They have one massive thing going against it and that's that there's too many team in NSW. QLD on the other hand has the opposite, so that's a massive positive. Community support will always be there, it's QLD for god's sake. That will all grow in time, especially with the community having such a large impact on what the team will be called.

What exactly has the NRL asked for, all knowing BDGS Bears fan?

Where is the source that confirms the Bears were the second most watched team in the 90s? Another made up fact to enhance the Bears bid?

I doubt the call for bids will be in 3 months. Much more likely it won't be made till after the IC sees what TV $'s are available, which may not be for 9 months.

So? Who cares who had the last go?.

Imo the fact that SE QLD still has a relatively new and potentially unstable team that was added a mere 4 years ago is far more important than the fact that there are 10 teams in NSW.

the ONLY advantage Ipswich has over CC is another QLD game for TV. And we aren't exactly struggling for QLD games on TV at the moment. The Broncos and Titans are on almost every week.

Well, if expansion is to happen in 2013, teams will need at least 1 year to start signing players for both grades so it will be at least within a year. I think its important that teams are given ample time to get the right structures in place so id say an 18 month lead up is important.

Id say we will have a decision by June next year.

31st of March is when the NRL asked for all bids to be put in for submission. That was stated half way through this year (2010) so people would stop asking over and over and over.

We are suppose to have an announcement on NRL expansion in June/July if all goes well with the TV deal.

ohhhhh It's Queensland???? Did anybody else forget to take this into account?

Queensland - the state that supports all Queensland Rugby League teams. That is why the original Gold Coast team was so successful and is why the South Queensland Crushers were also a very successful clubs. What happened to those teams btw?

The location of the Bid does not and will not come into play here. As Gallop himself has stated we are not going to put 'dots on a map'.

"'To be frank, I think some codes are getting in a race to put dots on a map without carefully considering the impact on the remaining clubs, or their current clubs,' Gallop said.

'I think rugby league has been down that road and made those mistakes, and I wouldn't like to see it make those mistakes again.'"

Therefore the argument against the bears that goes along the lines that the bears won't get a NRL team because there s too many NSW teams is out the window.
