Hmmm, if this is true it means 9 is deciding to shaft the PNG Pool A games out of prime time.

f**k the games all being live on bigpond.tv or mobile phones or any of that sh*t.... If rugby league is to be/stay a leading game, then an international series like this - being held in our own country - should get prime time coverage on free-to-air (not just buried on payTV) in all states.

Just showing the Australian games at good timeslots is a disgrace, and this type of thing should be rectified when the next TV rights deal is negotiated.

I wish the WARL would throw a party and screen it live for RL fans in Perth somewhere. They could sign everyone up for Reds memberships as well after we've all had a few!

Well they're out now and it says 9:30pm in Sydney unfortunately.

The commercial radio broadcast rights went to a network that offered less money and less coverage than the competing bid and now we see more of the same from Channel Nein. The question must be asked. Do administrators have the game's interest at heart or is it about jobs for the boys?

Well think about the people living in all the other states that won't get to see the match until nearly midnight.

Ch.9 it's only a matter of time that you won't have Rugby League again, oh that's right your the network that helped to create the Super League war.

Of course. That's much worse.

I used to be big in favour of preserving special sporting events for Free to Air TV but the way Ch Nein have treated RL you just think f*** it - let Fox Sports have it they'll show it live and pay more for the privilege. It hasn't hurt the Socceroos having their games on Fox Sports only.

If Ch 9 are whinging about tv ratings, they would easily win the 7.30 timeslot in NSW and QLD if they show it live.

Not many would give a toss what was on TV on a Saturday night, but if you put a sporting event at a decent timeslot, people would be glued to the television sets.

I hope when England play NZL up in Newcastle, they would actually show it live. It has to be live cause no doubt we'll see a great contest.

Just shows the attitude of Ch 9, its as if they thought this game was meaningless because its between England and PNG.

I just hope the England PNG is a close game to stick right up Ch 9.

and Gallop and co will sell the next rights for peanuts too. doubt they'll even write anything int the contract about games being shown at earlier times on FTA. even if they did they wouldn't enforce it as they currently let 9 off the hook for showing games after midnight in Melbourne
